For small families on the go, the Turbo Lite 240 is the perfect durable and fast pitching touring tent. The Turbo range from Black Wolf is known for its durability, ease of set up, and lightweight construction so it’s the perfect range for a fuss and stress-free camping experience.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meet, and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. In windy conditions, the extra reinforcing along the roof poles and the stronger mesh on the windows and doors will add to the robustness of this tent.
The three-pole awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The added PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
For a lightweight fast pitch tent for a couple or small family, the Turbo Lite 240 is the perfect match.

What's the ventilation like on this tent? It only has two windows, and no vents down the bottom for circulation. Will it get hot? Tents with vents down the bottom help keep you cool when sleeping
G'day Kelly,
The ventilation on the Turbo Lite 240 is pretty good. The side windows are gusseted, so can be opened to allow venting even if it is raining. The entire front door is double layered too, so you can open it up to allow ventilation there too. There aren't any floor vents in this one, but you don't really need them with the gusseted windows. In terms of heat - yes, if it is hot, then any tent will likely be hot!
would this tent be slightly darker inside than the Turbo 240 X−Lite LF? the LF looks like as soon as the suns out the tent will light up. Is this tent slightly darker in sunlight?
G'day Kelly,
The inner tent material of the X-Lite is 75 denier compared to 150 denier and the fly material is the same at 150D. The X-Lite tent would allow more light through as the material is slightly thinner. The Turbo Lite would be slightly darker inside than the X-Lite because of the difference in the material thickness.
Hello, from the looks of the video these tents only have 4 small internal pockets, is that right? I really wish tent companies would provide more storage
G'day Kelly,
This has a small mesh pocket on each side of the tent so a total of 2. It would be great to have more storage pockets, at the moment a separate item like storage pockets, slings or shelves would be the best thing for extra storage space.
Hi Team, I am interested in this tent as a four-man tent but all the demonstrations only show two single mattresses or a double mattress. Why does it say it sleeps 4 adults? Kind Regards Leanne
G'day Leanne,
The sleeping capacity is 4 people, so you could fit 4 people side by side on mattresses about 60cm wide although it would be a tight squeeze. The recommended capacity is 2 people as this is a more comfortable fit with some space.
If you were looking for something to fit 4 people I could suggest the BlackWolf Turbo Lite Plus 300 Tent, this is a bit bigger and will comfortably sleep 4 people, and has extra room at the back.
Why can’t you use Tourer Cap in rain seeing it covers simalar to normal fly
G'day Barry,
The Tourer Cap is made from different material and is not waterproof.
Its designed for quick overnight stops in fair weather to protect the tent from possible overhead issues like falling sticks/twigs, trree sap, bird poo, etc
Is the mesh they use on the door & windows midgee proof?
G'day Chris,
I can see you've asked this on a few BlackWolf tents, but no, they don't use No-See-Um mesh, which is the only mesh type known to 100% prevent midges.
Hi Does the lite 240 turbo have the silver coating on the inside of the tent, ,what year did this coating start to be applied and what is it’s purpose please
G'day Shiree,
Yes, the Turbo Lite 240 Tents have a silver inner coating on the fly. We're not entirely sure when Black Wolf starting doing this, unfortunately, we don't have archived records with this type of information. The Silver Coating helps add extra waterproofing and durability to the fly fabric.
Hi there, I've had this tent for about eight months and one of the awning poles has become difficult to extend. It makes a grinding noise as you try to pull it out. The other two poles are fine. Is this a defect in the product or can I do something to clean/lubricate the offending pole?
G'day Simon,
Sometimes extendable awning poles get a little bit of dirt in them and cause a grinding sound that will make them a little tricky to open and close. My suggestion would be to try and use some WD-40 and then open and close it a few times to see if the dirt dislodges.
How long does it take to set up this tent?
G'day Alzine,
The Black Wolf Turbo Lite 240 Tent will usually take about 20 minutes to set up on your first attempt, and then each time you set it up you'll get a little quicker.
I am interested in the turbo lite 240 tent because of its lower price to the canvas version, but I am concerned for the very low rating. Can you give me disadvantages/advantages of the lite version compared to the canvas one?
G'day Alzina,
The Black Wolf Turbo Lite 240 Tent is lighter, packs down smaller and is cheaper than its canvas sibling. Whilst there is a reduced Waterhead rating on the Lite tent, you'd still need it to be absolutely pouring down to have any issues with leaking as 2000mm is still a very good rating for a tent to have. The Canvas tent will also probably be marginally better when it comes to condensation if you go camping in very cold conditions.
Some of the reviews I read mention that the turbo lite can have more condensation problems than the canvas tent. I wonder how much of a problem is condensation with this tent. I never had condensation problems with my old cheap dome tents. So I am wandering if the turbo lite will have more condensation than a conventional dome tent? thanks
G'day Alzina,
If you're camping in super cold conditions, then condensation can become a problem in any tent. Some tents can be better at keeping it out than others but overall, if you open up some ventilation in your tent then you'll reduce the condensation a fair bit.
Is the lite Tent waterproofed?
G'day Alzina,
The Black Wolf Turbo Lite 240 Tent is definitely waterproof. It's got a Waterhead rating of 5000mm for the floor and 2000mm for the fly. If you wanted some clarification around Waterhead ratings, you can check out our blog here.
Is this tent treatment with flame retardants?
G'day Cathy,
The Black Wolf Turbo Tents, like most tents on the market, aren't coated or treated with any form of flame retardants. In every instance, we highly encourage against having any form of flame within any tent for this (and other) reasons.
