If you like the layout of a large cabin tent, but you find them a little too roomy for your liking- then the Turbo Lite Cabin 380 from Black Wolf is the happy medium between space and design. The Turbo range from Black Wolf is a timeless design that’s lightweight, well made and easy to use – so it will see you through season after season.
This newly updated range has tape sealed seams where the floor and tent wall meet, and the fly has wider corners to guard against water leakage. In windy conditions, the extra reinforcing along the roof poles and the stronger mesh on the windows and doors will add to the robustness of this tent.
The large awning can be turned into an extended living area with optional panels, or it can be sectioned off with an optional screen room for a fully enclosed space. The added PVC storm flaps at the bottom of the optional front and side panels will help keep your awning dry in wet weather, and the zips and Velcro on the panels attach to the fly to allow for tape sealing for added water protection.
With plenty of headspace, two side by side rooms for extra liveability, and a versatile awning– you can’t go past the Turbo Lite Cabin 380 for fuss-free smaller cabin tent.
Huge front awning
Quick pitch frame
Lightweight Polyester construction
Extra fly coverage for improved weather protection
Reinforcing on the inside of the fly for durability
Planning on putting 2x zempire bomber twin mats in one of the rooms. At 2m long, with the dividing wall rolled back is it clear at the floor for a mat to poke through to the other room?
John - Safety Bay, WA(11 months ago)
G'day John,
If you were to put 2 x Zempire Twin Bomber 3D Camp Mattress horizontally as you enter the tent, the mattresses would poke out to the other room as it is about 190cm wide and these mattresses are 201cm long. They would squeeze together on one side but would poke out to the other room a little.

awning1 answer
Can the awning be rolled away and being so big, how well does the awning cope with strong winds?
Mat - Geelong, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Mat,
The awning of the Black Wolf Turbo series can't be rolled away, as its part of the fly cap structure and the tensioning of the fly is tied into the awning being set out. In fine weather, you can set your tent up without the fly at all which means you won't have the awing to worry about. If you're experiencing stronger winds, as long as you have all your guy ropes set up, and add in some tracer springs aswell, you should be fine.

Awning size3 answers
Do you think there is enough room in the veranda to use instead of separate annex? Would it fit a table and chairs? Camp kitchen?
Josie - Newport (5 years ago)
G'day Josie,
The annexe measures 3.9 long x 1.8 wide which should accommodate a small table and chairs, a camp kitchen such as the Oztrail Camp Kitchen plus a couple of extra camp chairs if you need.
Susie - Snowys(5 years ago)
So how did this compare to the 450 awning size? Thank you
Josie - Newport(5 years ago)
G'day again Josie,
The Turbo Lite Cabin 450 is the same width at 1.8m wide, but you get a little bit of extra length at 4.6m. You can also check out the final image on both of these tents that will show a schematic diagram :)

Room divider1 answer
Hi there I am just wondering if the room divider can be removed completely. Can you confirm if the floor is flat all the way through. We have a Oztrail 450 tent which has the room divider which means that there is a physical divide in the floor. Also any advise re buying between the 380 and 450 - was looking to downsize the tent we have which is 450 but the price difference between these two makes you wonder?. Sorry few questions there Thanks
Sarah - 4877(5 years ago)
G'day Sarah,
The Turbo Lite Cabin 380 can be completely opened up for one large room, the central divider isn't stitched into the floor so you can open it up if you need. If you check out our features video Ben goes through the divider at around the 5 minutes mark. In terms of price, we might have a good deal on the 450 at the moment hence the price difference. The floor is flat, other than the entrance points at the front through the D-shaped doors with a little bit of a step over.

Wheels for the bag?2 answers
At 29kg this tent is going to be a bit beyond my capacity to carry by myself. Does the bag come with wheels? Or is there a way you know of to make it easier for a single person to move it around? My current tent is 24kg and is about my maximum.
Louise - Melbourne (6 years ago)
There are no wheels on the bag sorry, Louise, and we don't have any ready solutions to help you either sorry. I'd suggest the use of a trolley of some sort to move the bag.
We do have a tent trolley that may help, you can see it here - https://www.snowys.com.au/tent-trolley. Hardware stores often have a variety of trolleys for moving furniture too, maybe something like this is worth a look also.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Ben - Snowys(6 years ago)
Thankyou for the answer, the trolley looks like a great option

Do the side walls for the 240 fit1 answer
Hi there, can you please confirm that the side walls I have for my Black Wolf Turbo 240 will still fit this cabin tent? Thanks.
Louise - Melbourne(6 years ago)
G'day Louise,
As long as your Turbo 240 has a three-pole awning the side walls should fit the current model Turbo 380 Lite Cabin. If your Turbo 240 is an older two-pole model it's not going to work I'm afraid.

Does this tent also come in a canvas (i.e. non-lite) model?1 answer
I quite like this tent but would really prefer a more durable material even if it means more bulk and weight when transporting it. Is there a canvas version available or do you know if Black Wolf is planning to produce one?
Josh - 3222(7 years ago)
G'day Josh,
Unfortunately, the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Cabin 380 does not have a canvas version. The largest canvas model is the Turbo Plus 300. I would recommend calling Black Wolf directly in regards to their future plans for this range. You can contact them on 1800 227 070.

More expensive than the 450 tent?1 answer
Why is the smaller 380 tent more expensive than the larger 450 tent?
Dave - Williamstown(7 years ago)
G'day Dave,
Great question. At the moment, the demand for the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Cabin 450 is greater than the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Cabin 380. As a result, we currently source a larger supply which allows us to make our Everyday Low Price really low.

Hooks for lights? storage pockets? carry bag?1 answer
Are there hooks for lights in the roof of both rooms? Are there any storage pockets inside the tents? Does it come with a carry bag?
Tam - Canberra(7 years ago)
G'day Tam,
Included with the Black Wolf Turbo Lite Cabin 380 are loops to hang lights from in both rooms, however, there are no storage pockets.
The tent comes included with a durable polyester bag with plenty of space to make getting the tent in and out regularly quite easy.

Tam - Canberra(7 years ago)

Year model2 answers
Is this cabin the latest 2017 model or is it the 2016?
What are the main differences between the old and new model?
Mavrick - Warriewood (8 years ago)
G'day Mavrick,
There are a couple of differences between the 2016 and 2017 Turbo Lite tents from Black Wolf. The main ones are that the 2017 models are tape seam sealed where the floor meets the tent wall seam, the fly has wider corners to prevent water coming through, the windows and doors have stronger mesh, and there is extra reinforcing along the ridge poles. Â
We have a blog post that actually goes through all of the updates, and compares the old and new models which may be helpful for you, which you can have a read of here.Â
Emily - Snowys(8 years ago)
Hi Mavrick,Â
I've just realised that I completely forgot to answer the first part of your question - this tent is indeed the 2017 model Turbo. I apologise about that, let us know if you have any further queries about the Black Wolf range.Â
