The streamlined Tungsten UL 2P will shelter you and one other on your lightweight outdoor adventures. Comfortable to sleep and relax in – the Tungsten UL is a good option for weight-conscious hikers who also like a little extra roominess.
The bend of the poles makes the interior almost vertical, so you have a bit more head and elbow room in this tent. The Tungsten features DAC Press-fit poles, and colour coded clips, poles and
The fly won’t stretch or sag when wet and offers a 1500mm
The Tungsten has ventilation covered, with the No-Seem-Um mesh interior, and vents on the fly to assist with preventing condensation build up inside the shelter. The lampshade pocket inside the tent allows you to hang up your headlamps to get additional ambient lighting inside your shelter.
For ultra-lightweight adventures for two or the lone wolf who appreciates extra space and livability, the Tungsten UL 2P from Marmot won’t disappoint.
Hi there, wondering if you know how breathable this tent is please? I have a bivy tent which is shocking in all weather for it. I wake up and the roof is soaked! Hoping to upgrade. Also how long is warranty? Cheers
G'day Andy,
The tent inner is mainly mesh, so there's plenty of ventilation, which will help to reduce condensation. The fly sits up off the inner tent, so any condensation that does accumulate shouldn't cause any problems. Marmot tents are Guaranteed Free of Manufacturing Defects for Life.
Just in case the ground is too hard for pegs
G'day Yasmin,
Yes the Tungsten UL 2P is a freestanding tent, so it will be suitable if you have trouble securing your pegs.
Bought the marmot tungsten 2p ul with a view to adding a footprint when I could afford it. Now read there isn't one. Pretty disappointed that I can't protect my investment
G'day Kat,
Marmot manufactures a specific footprint for the Tungsten UL 2P, however, it isn't brought into Australia. You could try getting your hands on one from a US-based retailer who is willing to ship here, or we do sell the Tungsten 2P footprint to most people with the UL model.
G'day Guys Is the mesh colour (greyish?) ok for stargazing?
G'day Troy,
Yes, in fair weather, you can set up the Tungsten UL 2P Tent without the fly and stargaze through the mesh.
G'day Guys Just noticed that the ends don't have a guide rope to peg out away from the inner tent. Any way to hack this? ie. attach a make shift one?
G'day Troy,
Are you referring to the 4 corners of the Tungsten UL 2P Tent? If so they are designed to attach to the strap from the inner tent, and then you peg the corners of the inner tent.
I had the same issue with the mid point of the ends of another tent. My hack was to reinforce the fly with cloth tape, cut a small hole, then put a rope loop so I could peg out the mid point of the end of the fly. Thus keeping the ply off the tent. Cheers
Hiya, I really like the shape of this tent and however the water rating seems to be much less than the Empire Zeus. Could you clarify for me what the higher price get you. Thanks
G'day Kellie,
The Tungsten UL 2P Hiking Tent and the Zempire Zeus tent are a similar size and serve a similar purpose, however, in terms of their technical specifications, they are quite different. The Tungsten UL 2P is a
Is a footprint included with the tent?
G'day Nitin,
The Marmot Tungsten UL 2P Tent doesn't come with a footprint and the footprint isn't currently available in Australia.
Do you stock the footprint for this tent?
G'day Grace,
Unfortunately, the Marmot Tungsten UL 2P Footprint isn't currently available in Australia.
I am interested in this tent however after having previously purchased the Vapor, I am concerned about the internal dimensions being asymmetrical. The Vapor measured 224L x 137(head) x 118(foot). Is the Tungsten the same?
G'day Michael,
Most high-quality hiking tents are asymmetrical. This is due to manufacturer efforts to reduce weight (similar to why hiking sleeping bags are a mummy shape, not rectangular).
Unfortunately, most manufacturers only provide width dimensions for the widest point in the sleeping area. In this case for the Marmot Tungsten 2P it is 137cm. We currently don't have stock to check, but I have done some investigating and have been told that the Tungsten 2P does taper to be only 122cm at the foot end.
We're working to try and provide these additional details, however, it's a slow process as we need to have stock available to open up and measure every tent. We'll update our website to reflect these measurements.
