Sick of feeling like the walls of your hiking tent are closing in on you? Then the spacious Tungsten 1P from Marmont might be just up your street.
Marmot has cleverly increased the livable space in this tent, as the clips and pre-bent poles are placed to pull out the sides of the tent, and therefore maximize the interior for a roomier sleeping area. The seam taped 1500mm waterhead rated fly provides rain coverage, while the 2000mm seam taped floor and additional footprint protect your tent from below.
The Tungsten 1P features DAC Press-fit poles with a velocity 7000 ridge pole and colour coded clips, poles and fly for easy pitching. Ventilation wise, the interior features No-See-Um mesh and vents on the fly for breathability. The single D door allows access in and out of the tent, while the vestibule provides ample storage space for your pack and boots.
You can get the most out of your headlamp by slipping it into the lampshade pocket, for a diffusion of ambient lighting inside your shelter. And you can organise your smaller essentials thanks to the interior pockets in this tent. A spacious and well-made tent for one, the Tungsten 1P won’t let you down on your solo adventures.
Single D door and vestibule
Freestanding design
Lampshade pocket to hold and diffuse headlamp light

Clip placement and pre-bended poles for maximum interior space
Would this tent fit a Nemo Tensor Alpine Long/Wide sleeping pad? Dimensions say yes, but actually? Or would it be cramped against the walls?
Fav - North Sydney(4 years ago)
G'day Fav,
It's hard to know for sure as we don't sell Nemo, however, if the dimensions are close, you might be better off with a standard length/width mat, so that your mat doesn't touch the edges, which will leave you open to leaks.

I'm 193cm - will I fit?1 answer
Will this be long enough without feet/heading touching the sides?
Jason - Melbourne(4 years ago)
G'day Jason,
The Tungsten 1P is 214cm long internally, so you should be ok in this tent, but you won't have heaps of room to move around. The fit will likely depend on the dimensions of your sleeping mat.

Usable in winter/rain1 answer
Planning on hiking and camping in July here in Adelaide/SA. Would this tent be suitable for winter camping if it's just cold or rainy, and definitely not snowing? Or should I consider a 4 season tent.
Isla - Adelaide(5 years ago)
G'day Isla,
The Tungsten 1P tent should do the trick, however you'll want to make sure you've got a well-insualated mat, and good quality sleeping bag, as the inner tent is predominantly mesh.

Does the weight inc. the weight of the ground sheet?1 answer
Hey snowys, just want to know if the 1.79kg packed weight includes the weight of the ground sheet? If not, could you please let me know how much the ground sheet weighs. Also, does the ground sheet pack away easily enough with the rest of the tent? Thanks!
Patrick - Bundaberg(5 years ago)
G'day Patrick,
As the footprint is included, all specs cover the total weights and packed dimensions of them combined. The footprint itself weighs 120g so if you wanted to leave it out for a trip that how much weight you'd be cutting. Hope that helps!

Which Sea to Summit Compression dry Sack size will best fit the Marmot Tungsten 1P?
Jeff - Narre Warren(6 years ago)
G'day Jeff,
In order to get the Sea to Summit Compression Dry Sack long enough to store the Tungsten 1P tent in it you would have to go for the X Large size. Depending on what your plans are for storing/using the tent it might be worth giving us a call on 1300 914 007 and we can chat through some other options.

Do you have the green version available?
Phil - Bendigo(7 years ago)
G'day Phil,
You can buy the Marmot Tungsten 1P Hiking Tent in either grey/orange or green by selecting from the options in the top right corner of the webpage. Unfortunately, both are currently out of stock but you're able to pre-order a tent if you'd like. They've already been ordered and are on their way from Marmot.
