Rugged, compact and easy to pitch – the Tuff Tent 4 from Black Wolf is ideal for a couple or small family looking for a reliable base camp.
The Tuff Tent 4 is a single room tent with generous interior size. It features a tough polyester PU 2000mm rated fly, and a 300D 5000mm rated floor which provides excellent protection from the elements. The poles are made from strong 19mm steel, which are also easy to assemble to make pitching simple. You can ventilate your space in all kinds of weather as the gusseted windows can be pegged out for air flow, and the guy rope fin pockets allow you to keep the guy ropes tidy and out of the way.
This dome tent was also designed to be compact when packed up, which means you’ll have plenty of space for transporting all of your other camping gear. When you’re off on a touring expedition, the Tuff Tent 4 provides reliable and easy to pitch shelter.

Is there a rear door opening plus better poles2 answers
Can you enter this tent from both front and back and have through ventilation? Some review say the poles break. Are they covered under warranty? Is this tent an improved version with better poles?

G'day Jenny,
Yes, you can enter the Tuff Tent 4 from the front and back of the tent, there also lots of options for cross ventilation. We don't have any reviews on our site and haven't heard of any issues with the poles, so it's hard to know for sure. Generally, tent poles won't be covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

I think the new design is better. We had the previous version and yes the poles did break. First the front vestibule one then quite some time later the two main one. They broke because they had too much strain on them. The new design, I hope, caters for this. I still intend to buy another

How dark is it inside compared to Coleman darkroom?1 answer
How dark is it inside compared to the Coleman darkroom? Does their fly material make it feel darker than a normal tent?
Jim - Sydney(5 years ago)
G'day Jim,
The Tuff Dome 4 doesn't have a blackout fly material so it will be much lighter inside this tent than a darkroom tent.

How easy to pitch1 answer
Hi I have had a look at the manual, and it says that 2 people are required to pitch this tent. But would this tent be able to pitched by a single person without too much trouble, or does it really need a second person? Thank you.

G'day Matt,
As with most tents, an extra person will make the set process a bit easier and faster but you should be okay pitching the Black Wolf Tuff Tent 4 on your own. I would just attach the hockey stick poles into the top arch poles on each side while it's laid out on the ground then guide the poles up once pinned into place. I hope this makes sense.
