Just wondering how does this tent hold up against wind?
G'day Sandy,
Thats not really a question that can be easily answered, as there are so many variables and people with the same tent may have different experiences because of there set up.
Check out our podcast on Wind and Rain when Camping for how to get the very best performance out of any tent in the wind.
Will a 210 x 90cm stretcher fit in
G'day Luke,
We know for sure that an Oztent King Goanna stretcher fits with no issues, and thats 210 x 80cm, so you shouldnt have any issues with yours despite the extra width!
I've got this tent and it's great...unless you're camping somewhere difficult to get tent poles in. Any way to make it pegless? Or other solutions to the problem?
G'day Taylor,
You could try using sandbags or tie some large rocks to the peg points, but ideally, you'd peg point each corner.
Hi just wondering if you leave the roof frame assembled when you pack up the Oztrail Tourer 9 tent will it fit in to its original bag or do I have to buy a larger bag? Regards Paul
Hi Paul,
The supplied bag is a large square shape and has been designed so the tent can be packed away in it with the roof frame attached.
Hi these tents seem very similar (identical) is the darche better for the money? Also Could I fit 2 stretchers in it (king goanna) or would i need the plus versions? Or the darche?
G'day Jonathan,
The Oztrail Tourer 9 and Darche Safari 260 are both great options. The Darche has a slightly heavier canvas and a PVC Bucket Floor, as well as the option for front panels for the front awning. Overall we think they're both great, however, the Darche is slightly better quality. Both options can fit two King Goanna Stretchers however we'd recommend using the side pole kit for both models if you're using two stretchers.
Does this tent need to be seasoned? Or any additional weather proofing?
G'day Steve,
Our general rule with all canvas products is that you should season it, just to make sure all of the stitch holes seal up and keep you leak-free. Once this has been done you'll be all set to go and shouldn' t need any other waterproofing.
What size air mattress fits?
G'day Ross,
Unfortunately, you won't be able to fit a double air mattress in next to the centre pole. We'd suggest using a Side Pole Kit to be able to use a double mattress in the Tourer 9 Tent.
