will this fridge take bottles of wine standing up?
There is 31.5cm of height in the tallest section, Marty, which should be more than enought to acomodate most wine bottles.
Is the height specified increased by the handles? Are there any feet that can be removed?
G'day Wayne,
The height of 43.5cm is correct, which I've just triple-checked in person. This is the total height of the fridge from the base to the most external point, which includes the handles.
There arent any feet that can be removed... if you're trying to work out if you can fit it into a particular space, it cant be made shorter than 43.5cm - sorry!
hi, can i charge this from an anderson socket rather than using the cigarette plug? does that give a more secure connection whilst driving? thanks
G'day Marie,
Yes, the Evakool fridges charge via an Anderson input on the fridge body, so you'd just need to have an Anderson to Anderson cable if you want to charge from an Anderson outlet terminal in your vehicle.
Just going to say Anderson one more time for goodluck!
Does this fridge have a drain plug?
G'day Jaiden,
Unfortunately, there are no drainage Plugs on the TMDZ range.
howdy, have you had any feedback about the surface mounted anderson plug getting damaged, knocked off, etc? some other brands have the anderson plug mounted flush/recessed? cheers
G'day Rod,
We've been carrying these for a fair while and havent had any feedback suggesting this is an issue.
Usually, this is the kind of info you're more likely to find on 4WD/Caravan/Camping forums, here people raise issues and fixes within an online community.
I've done a quick google and nothing about this kind of issue has come up at all.
Usually, things like that are rectified pretty quickly in updated designs if it's been a problem for customers. I would suggest that because EvaKool has had it like this for a fair while, it's not a known issue.
Hope that helps!
Hello, I am wondering what the difference is between the TMDZ and TMX ranges of the Evakools? Thank you :) We are looking at something around 50L
G'day Nat,
TMX- Travelmate X or original - which is their standard Fridge/Freezer range. TMDZ - Travelmate Dual Zone - which is their dual-zone range, meaning you have 2 separate compartments that can be controlled individually.
Mechanically they're essentially the same, both excellent options with obvious aesthetic design differences, it just comes down to whether you like the idea of being able to run a separate fridge and freezer, or if you're happy with the single compartment.
my fridge slide has an opening length of 720mm If the total length of the tmdz60 is 795mm with handles I wont be able to open the fridge lid. are the handle removable
G'day Henry,
Looks like you shouldn't have any trouble removing the handles off the TMDZ, you'll just need a Phillips Head screwdriver.
I have limited space. What are the dimensions witthout haandles. All fridges need a certain amount of space for efficiency. What space is required.
G'day Fiona,
Unfortunately, we're completely out of stock, so we can't physically measure one for you. Evakool doesn't provide any footprint diagrams or other specifications so unfortunately, we've got no way to answer your query at the moment. From memory, the handles are approximately 3cm on either end when in the down position. Evakool specifies that the fridge requires good ventilation and that you should allow a gap of at least 200mm around the vents.
Does this fridge come with a small lid for the freezer section, so that when opening the fridge it doesn't necessarily open the freezer as well? I'm looking for a dual zone dual lid fridge in a 50-60L capacity but can't find anything so this design is my go to.
G'day Nathan,
Unfortunately, we don't have any stock to physically check this for you at the moment, however as far as we know and as far as the images portray, there isn't a separate internal lid section for the freezer side.
can you recommend a tilt slide for this fridge ?
G'day Michael,
We don't actually carry slides for the Evakool fridges at the moment, however as far as I know Evakool only manufacture a flat pull out slide.
Do the external dimensions listed in the description include the handle or just the fridge body?
G'day Scott,
The external dimension includes the handle in the closed position.
