tent gear for plane?1 answer

just checking if this is the best bag for a few tents and other gear for plane travel MEL-BNE for camping sesh.. have a few guys to lift and car either end so no issues here really.. *may have submitted twice sorry

Yes, this would be a good back to transport a few tents and other gear from MEL-BNE, it should give you plenty of space to fit your gear for the trip.

We've not physically given this a go before, but based on the dimensions, and the usual use for the swag bag we can't think of any reason why this combination won't work.

Hi Is this bag waterproof as I’m looking at putting other camping gear in it and putting it on my roof racks which will be exposed to UV and all weather conditions e.g. rain.

The Oztrail Canvas Swag Bag - Double is not waterproof. Canvas is water resistant/waterproof under tension, but as a bag, it won't keep the water out. If you're after a waterproof gear bag for the roof rack we'd suggest one of the Darche Nero Gear Bags.

Your website states that the dimensions are 150L x 60W x 60H cm but I've read some other websites that it is 150L x 50W x 50H cm. Oztrails own website doesn't have the measurements. Can you confirm if it is actually 60 or 50cm. Thank you!1 answer

Thanks for being patient with us, we've now got these in stock and I've measured the Double Swag Bag. I can confirm they are 50cm diameter so we'll get those specifications updated now.

We donâ€™t have the Glenrowan swag to measure for you Shane, but going from the OzTrail Mitchell double swag which has the same dimensions (210 x 145cm) we can assume that it will have very similar if not the same packing dimensions which is 40 x 145. Keep in mind the dimensions are based on when the product is tightly rolled up straight from the factory â€“ so youâ€™ll need to give or take 5-10cm depending on how tight you roll it. The Oz Trail double Swag bag fits 150 x 50, so it should suit your Glenrowan.
