Can you get extension poles or rods to hold the window out so it can be extended without tiring it down with ropes?
G'day Daniel,
Grab some swag awning poles - they would be the way to go, and come in a set of two.
What powers the led lights? Is it USB or 12V? If it's USB can I run it off a standard Power Bank?
G'day Daniel,
Yep! The lights run off a USB A connection, so you shouldn't have any issues with a Powerbank that has 7W output or greater.
In terms of materials used for the poles: how does this Oztrail one compare to the new Dirty Dee poles in quality and durability?
G'day Rebecca,
Darche use composite poles, they're the only brand in our range with this style, and Oztrail use an alloy pole which is the classic swag pole material with segments for tension distribution.
The composite poles can be more forgiving with tension issues, but theres no reason why alloy poles wouldnt last years if set up correctly.
Am looking at potentially getting a swag for me and my dog as car camping is a bit cramped but can’t quite work out which of the two is the better swag? As in easier set up, packed size and quality? Can you sit up in both? The sundowner doesn’t seem to be available in many places and not very common? Easy of use. Which one would you suggest please?
G'day Bec,
The Oztrail Sundowner is largely exclusive to Snowys with the exception of some smaller retailers in QLD. These are an amazing swag and whilst they're relatively new they have fast become popular.
Both swags have the same head height internally, but the Sundowner is wider at 1.55m, over the Bandit at 1.4m
They are both similar in external design, with the Sundowner having some additional features such as a "sky roof" windows, internal lighting system, and a large functional storage pannel.
You'd be happy with either swag I'd say, but the Sundowner pips the bandit slightly with the bigger size and additional features.
Hi, do you sell spare poles for this swag? Thanks
G'day Jules,
We don't sell the spare pole set at this stage, but you can grab them directly from Oztrail here.
