If you’re considering heading to the centre for an outback trip, then you’ll need a sturdy shelter to sleep in, like the Sturt Expedition Double Swag from OZtrail.
This double swag is constructed tough 230gsm Satproof 600+ rip-stop canvas and has an alloy front pole and fibreglass rear pole for structure. It’s also designed to taper towards to head for more room right where you need it in your swag. With a 5cm high-density open-cell mattress to lay on and a zip top entry for easy access – this swag is really user-friendly.
You can ventilate while keeping insects at bay thanks to the full-sized mesh panel on the front. And, if you’re expecting a drizzle of rain, then you zip up the main entrance and still get air flow through the top mesh panel covered by an awning.
If you always lose track of your valuables, then the good news is that you can keep your phone, keys or headtorch organised in the two internal storage pockets. The perfect size for a camper and their pooch, or the roaming couple – the Sturt Expedition is a simple and affordable option for outback tours and adventures.
Whats the difference between this one and the Mitchell discovery double swag. which one would you recommend?1 answer
I am looking for a swag to use for camping trips etc. I would like to know whats the major differences between this swag and the Mitchell discovery series. both are relatively the same price but does one really stand out and why? what would you recommend as I have no clue?

G'day Johan,
The big difference between the Oztrail Sturt Expedition Double and the Oztrail Mitchell Discovery Double would be the number of poles each uses. The Sturt has a single pole over the head and is a great option if you want something that's lightweight and quick to pitch. The Mitchell Discovery will be better if you'd prefer a full dome style swag as it uses three poles to keep the canvas completely off you while you're sleeping. You can also add a ridgepole on top to make the whole thing freestanding. The Mitchell also uses a heavier canvas so this might be a better choice if you plan on using it a lot in poor weather conditions. So if quick and easy is your preference grab a Sturt, but if more internal space is more important for you, go for the Mitchell.
