Keep everything organised inside your pack by stashing your sleeping bag or clothes into a Sea to Summit Stuff Sack.
Constructed from durable 70D nylon with a polyurethane coating, these stuff sacks have a 2000mm
The Sea to Summit Stuff Sacks take up barely any space and make storing all kinds of gear in your pack super simple.
Can you please advise what size would be suitable for my daughter’s Coleman Aurora sleeping bag? Thanks
I'd suggest a stuff sack of about 30L volume, Claire. From new the Aurora -5 bag measures abut 45cm Long and about 28cm diameter which equates to just under 30L, and a bit of extra space is going to make packing it away easier. ~ Ben
Do you think the 2xL sea to summit Stuff it bag would be able to fit a double sleeping bag stuffed into it?
G'day SW,
The 2XL Stuff Sack might be just large enough for your double sleeping bag however it's hard to say, as there are lots of different sizes of double sleeping bag, that will all pack away into slightly different sizes. If it is a hike style double, then yes it should be ok. If it is a larger, general camping style bag it might not fit. We'd recommend doing your best to roll or stuff it into a plastic bag/bin liner and then measuring that for an idea of the size you'll need.
What size stuff sack would be suitable for a trek 3 sleeping bag (or is there a better option)?
G'day Steve,
The Trek 3 sleeping bag is supplied with an ultra-sil compression stuff sack, and a storage sack, so I'm not too sure what your plans for the stuff sack are? The Large Stuff Sack is the same size as the supplied compression stuff sack if you're looking for size comparison.
Hi, I have the MSR Elixir 2P tent. The stuff sack that it comes in is quite large. I'm wanting to pack the poles and the tent separately, and put the tent in to a smaller stuff sack like these. Do you know how I would figure out which size is most suitable? Thanks
G'day Hannah,
Each stuff sack has its dimension listed above if you click on a size. Measure the length and width of the packed up tent and click on a size. For example, the Large bag measures 40L x 21W. I hope this helps!
Was wondering what size packs would be suitable for the Rivergum XL Sleeping Bag and the Black Wolf Star 500. The bag the Black Wolf Star comes in is near impossible and I can't see my daughter ever getting it all packed away.. Trying to save her some heartache that we've all experienced when it comes to after-camp packdown / sleeping bag packaway struggles.
G'day Brett,
I've just had a look into this for you, and the largest Sea to Summit Stuff Sack (2XL) will fit the Black Wolf Star 500, but it is only a little larger than the compression stuff sack the bag comes with. The Rivergum XL is too large to fit into any of the Stuff Sacks. Just to double check, you are stuffing the sleeping bags into their supplied sacks and not rolling them?
Replacing a broken one.
G'day Damian,
The Caribee Snow Drift Sleeping Bag is quite large, at 44cm in length and 28cm in width and height. I double checked with our display model and unfortunately, the bag is too large to fit in any of the Sea to Summit Stuff Sacks, however, it will fit in the 2XL Sea to Summit Mesh Stuff Sack. The in-use dimensions are the same but the mesh sack has a bit more give allowing the sack to comfortably stretch over the sleeping bag.
Hi there Which has greater capacity out of the 2XL stuff sack and the largest compression sack in the sea to summit range? Thanks
G'day Sarah,
Both the XXL Sea to Summit Stuff Sack and the XL Sea to Summit Compression Sack have a maximum capacity of 30L. The compression bag will give you the option of compressing the load, but the straight stuff sack is perhaps easier to deal with as it doesn't have the extra straps getting in the way.
Hi there Would this suit a double sleeping bag?
G'day Sarah,
It's hard to say because sleeping bags come in so many shapes, sizes and weights. Is your sleeping bag a model that we stock currently? If so I'm happy to go down on the shop floor and work out which size will fit it best. Otherwise, you might have to make an educated guess, you're always welcome to return it if you go for it and it doesn't fit.
What's the capacity of each of the available sizes please (XXS, XS, S, M, L ,XL, 2XL)?
G'day Sophia,
You can view the capacity of each size stuff sack by selecting the size from the drop-down menu but here's a quick breakdown for you -
XXS 2.5L, XS 4L, S 6.5L, M 9L, L 15L, XL 20L, XXL 30L
..
G'day Courtney,
I've been and had a quick play with the stuff sacks and I don't think you're going to get a bed like the Coleman Queen Double High Quickbed into even the biggest size sorry. Not easily anyway! I'd be more inclined to suggest something like the Oztrail Canvas Duffle Bag Medium that'll give you a bigger opening to get the bed though, as well as having handles to help with lugging it around. As far as the sleeping bag goes they can vary wildly in size so it's hard to say. If your bag is a model we sell I'd be happy to test it out for you, just let me know which one you've got.
Is this waterproof? How does it compare to the sea to summit compression stuff sack
The fabric is waterproof Fiona, but the sack is not seam sealed and there is no way to make the closure watertight. In comparison to the compression sacks, they are not seam sealed either, but the cap that makes up the compression feature will reduce the likelihood of water ingress through the closure. If you want waterproof, then a dry sack or compression dry sack is your best bet.
