I’m currently using the Stratus Liner and have no idea the actual warmth it adds in degrees—I do know it’s warm enough to feel comfortable I have a minus 9.5 sleeping bag which is the exact same dimension making the perfect marriage of the two My question. How much would the Stratus actually add. Thanks
G'day Barry,
The Coleman Stratus Fleece Liner will add a little bit of warmth to your sleeping bag, but there is no defined temperature it will add. We'd guesstimate 5-10 degrees Celcius, but short of running scientific testing, we're not able to confirm that for you.
Do you think these liners could be used in a kids sleeping bag?
G'day Erika,
Yes, you could use the Stratus Fleece liners in kids sleeping bags, but we'd recommend folding them in half then popping them inside the bag so that there isn't lots of bunched-up extra fabric at the foot end.
Looking to zip this open up the Pilbara C0 bag and zip this to the pilbara zipper - create a big double bag. Pilbara on bottom, fleece on top (and vice versa - will this work?
G'day Paul,
I've just given this a whirl, and yes they are compatible, what a great idea!
What’s the difference between this and the Sea to Summit fleece liner in terms of dimensions, shape and warmth?
G'day Franklin,
Sea to Summit use Thermolite Fleece fabric which is a fabric that will provide a great warmth to weight ratio. Overall it is about hald the weight of the Coleman Stratus Fleece and provides a similar temperature rating. In terms of size, the Sea to Summit is 200L x 70W, and the Stratus is 190L x 83Wcm.
Will this fit into a Coleman Big Game sleeping bag?
G'day Paul,
The Stratus Liner will fit easily into the Big Game sleeping bag. The Big Game measures 213 x 102cm and liner measures 190 x 83cm. It will provide that extra warmth you'll need on extra chilly nights!
Hi there, just wondering if you can give an approximate number of degrees that this liner would add to the comfort rating of another bag? For example, will it make a 0 degree bag into a -5 degree bag?
G'day Justin,
The Coleman Stratus Fleece Liner will add a little bit of warmth to your sleeping bag, but there is no defined temperature it will add. We'd think 5-10 degrees Celcius would be a good guesstimate but short of running scientific testing, we're not able to confirm that for you.
My son prefers his sleeping bag open as a doona but then gets cold during the night, looking for a warm cover on his mat
G'day Kerrilee,
The Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner will fit over the Sea to Summit Comfort DLX SI Sleeping Mat RW but the dimensions of the liner are just a bit short for the LW version of the sleeping mat. These liners are designed to line the inside of your sleeping bag for added warmth and comfort so this should do the trick for your son.
I need to know how much it weighs to plan what I am carrying
G'day Jillian,
The Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner weighs 0.9kg.
Can you zip them together and make a double
G'day Leanne,
You can zip together two of the Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liners to make a double.
Can two of these zip together to use as a liner for double sleeping bag?
G'day Alyshia,
The Coleman Stratus Fleece Liner can't be joined together sorry.
Are you sure Tim? I have two of these and have zipped them together. As the description says: "can easily join with another liner for double the size"
G'day Warren and Alyshia,
I'm so sorry, you're correct Warren. The Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner is definitely zip together compatible. Thanks for pointing that out mate.
Does it zip out to a blanket
G'day Mindy,
I've just double checked our display Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner and can confirm that it does open up to be a blanket.
Does the zipper open from the bottom as well to allow the feet to be open but the sides zippered up?
G'day Desiree,
Unfortunately, the zipper of the Coleman Stratus Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner (10°) can only be opened from the top.
hey, guys, this liner has a double ended zip, and you can open it from the bottom (let feet out), as well as standard opening from the top! So the answer is YES, you can open it from the bottom! I love this liner!
G'day Sandy,
Yep, you are correct, the recent models of the Coleman Straus Liner do have a double-ended zip.
3 years ago when the original question was asked, it was only a single-ended zip.
Hope that helps!
S
G'day Jacob,
Tough one to answer because there are many variables in terms of where and how you're planning to sleep, how warm your body is through the night, outside temperature etc. However, we have heard of many people using it as a summer blanket so it's absolutely possible.
is it as thick as the fleece you wear?
G'day Jack,
I've just had a feel of it, and I personally think it might be just a touch thinner than the fleece used on a jacket or pullover- but it's hard to compare it as all fabrics are a little different across the board.
What temperatures could you use this in if you were going to use it as a sleeping bag?
G’day Bill,
This liner has a compart temperature rating of 15 °C, so I’d say it’s probably not going to be appropriate to use in winter conditions on its own. Your best bet would be to combine it with a sleeping bag so that you’re plenty warm at night.
