A trace spring does a number of things to mitigate problems on a camping trip. Firstly, one of these added to your guy ropes reduces the instance of damage to any shelter during high winds by allowing the guy ropes to move with the wind.
Secondly, the tension in the spring ensures your guy ropes return to their taught state and maintain tension on your shelter after high winds as well as allowing for any stretch or shrinkage of tent fabric as it wets and dries out.
These are particularly useful on long stay camping trips where you want to set up our shelter and not have to worry about making adjustments throughout the day (or night). They are suited to standard tent pegs and come in three different strengths to suit all shelter types.

I have “Hex Pegs Hook Top Drillable Tent Pegs“ and wish to know if these fit before purchasing
G'day Joel,
With a bit of a wiggle the Supa Peg Standard Guy Rope Trace Springs do fit over the Hex Pegs Hook Top Dillable Tent Pegs. As long as you're pitching out guy ropes at that usual angles, you should be fine.
what is the 3 different sizes and prices please
G'day Trevor,
There are two options for the Standard Guy Rope Trace Springs - light duty, or light duty 4 pack. Just select the option you're interested in and the price will show above the drop-down menu. We also have the Marquee Guy Rope Trace Spring which is a heavier duty spring.

G'day Heath,
The Light Duty Spring Trace from Supapeg measures 18cm compressed and 21cm fully stretched out.
Does it matter what end you peg and what end you attach guy rope
G'day Dudley,
Great question, I thought the same thing when I first saw the Standard Guy Rope Trace Springs! You might need to peg on the larger end depending on the type of peg, but they can be used in either direction.
Looking to beef up the guys/pegs on our Oztrail fast frame tourer 450. Will these standard tracers work well with the 300mm pegs for this application in your opinion or should we be looking at a different combination? Would the marquee tracers and 400mm combo be overkill?
G'day Matt,
I've just checked this out and the Standard Guy Rope Trace Springs and 300mm Angle Iron Pegs will work together well. You could go for the marquee tracers and larger pegs but I think it might be a tiny bit overkill!
