Yes, you can use the cap as a bowl/mug, they've been designed with that in mind! You can drink/eat directly out of the main container itself too, they have a nice wide mouth so you can fit a spoon in there too.

It is insulated, Laura, but not in the same sense as the main vessel. The cup just has thicker walls, I'm not sure what they are filled with but I reckon it's just thick plastic, maybe 2-4mm. The actual vessel is vacuum insulated though, which is more efficient.

I'd say the lid will keep your food warm for the time in which you would be eating it though.

Further to the above, I just re-read your question. I'm not sure how much effect the lid would have on the insulation properties of the main unit. I would say it will have some impact on the thermal properties if removed but it would still be effective with the lid removed.

The inner lid and thermos stopper are made of BPA free materials, including Polypropylene #5.

Yep!  These food jars are leak proof, and made with 18/8 grade stainless steel.

I've just double checked our folding fork options and unfortunately, they're all a little long to fit inside the top of the Stainless King Food Jar Lid Compartment.

I spot checked products across the Thermos range Amy, and they are all made in China.

This being said, good quality products do come out of China, and Thermos is a reputable brand. Delivery to Brisbane is currently 3-4 business days, but this will be much quicker by the end of the year once our new store in Brendale is in full swing.

Just select the blue food jar icon and click add to bag, and once it's successfully added select the red food jar icon and click add to bag. I've just given this a go myself and it was working properly, but if you have a problem with it - give our customer service team a call on 1300 914 007.

That's a good question! Unfortunately Thermos don't actually state what grade of stainless steel they use in thier Stainless King Food Jars. They do state on thier website that 'Thermos® vacuum-insulated stainless steel products are 100% BPA-free and do not use any interior coatings. Stainless steel is non-reactive, stain-resistant, corrosion-resistant and taste free.' I'd be happy to try and chase them up during the week for a more detailed answer if you like! The only for jars we have that actually confirm the grade of steel they use are the Sigg Hot & Cold 300ml Food Jar. I hope this helps!
