Power Level1 answer
What are the power level increments please. I'm looking for a single induction with increments of 100w
James - Carramar, WA (2 months ago)
G'day James,
Check out our features video which runs through the operation of the cooktop for more info, the wattage increments are 200W.

Can the chimes be turned off?1 answer
Hey there, just wondering if the chimes can be turned off? Pretty loud in a quiet camp ground!
Nick - Sandringham, VIC(6 months ago)
G'day Nick,
Unfortunately not - there's nothing in the manual, and we've had a bit of a google, and a play around before, & not been able to find any function to disable it.

Cooktop heat distribution1 answer
Hi Laura, while they say max pan size is 26cm, could you please confirm how wide the heating element is. Most pan size is ok with liquid food, but with frying pans, if the heat distribution is not even (my kitchen induction hob), the food gets burnt at the centre for 15cm or so while the outer edges, it remains uncooked (e.g. crepe, omelette etc). I am using an ikea induction stove with 17cm heating surface which is better than my kitchen hob, but I prefer a wider heat distribution. Thanks.
Pri - Sydney, NSW(7 months ago)
G'day Pri,
The "burner" size is 20cm, but interestingly I had a induction technician at my place recently who advised the smaller the conductive base of your cookware, the better the efficiency and cooking on your stove. The whole pan should heat relatively evenly even if the burner or conduction area is smaller, the issue is mainly to do with the temperature settings being too high. Induction is better used at lower temps, for longer periods. I don't know if that helps at all, but thought it was worth passing on!

What Min and Max size pans (bases) are needed
Laura - Hobart, TAS(8 months ago)
G'day Laura,
I have just clarified with Westinghouse and as long as your induction-compatible Pots & Pans are between 12cm - 26cm they will work.

Cooktop surface1 answer
Can the cooktop be placed directly on a stainless steel camp bench top? Or, does it need an insulated mat like silicone between the cooker and the bench?
Steve - Adamstown Heights, NSW (8 months ago)
G'day Steve,
Westinghouse recommends using the Induction Cooktop on a stable, heat-resistant surface and to avoid using the cooktop on metal surfaces. If you want to use it on a stainless steel bench, a silicone/heat-resistant mat would be a great idea for under the cooker.

Westinghouse induction hotplate1 answer
Hi does this give off heat underneath like what sort of surface is recommended to cook on. I wouldnt want to damage a laminate bench or the plastic table outside. Can this be run off a 2000w inverter. Also can normal pots and pans be used on it?
Sandy - Baldivis, WA (9 months ago)
G'day Sandy,
Being an induction cooker, you'll need to use induction compatible cookwear. It doesn't have to be camping specific cookwear, just along as its induction compatible. The stove top itself doesn't emit heat specifically, as it works off magnetism, but it's recommended not to use this on a metal table. You can use a 2000W inverter but you may not be able to run the unit at its max temperature setting depending on the brand of your inverter and its efficiency.

At lower power can it be used less than 2000 watts
Fiona - Fairlight, NSW (10 months ago)
G'day Fiona,
I'm not 100% clear on what you're asking sorry. Could you please give me a bit more info about what you mean?
Lauren - Snowys(10 months ago)
I think Fiona means does it only operate at 2000w, some of these can do 500, 1000, 1500 etc.
Damian - Mount Barker, SA(10 months ago)
Hi Lauren, I think what Fiona is asking is that can the induction cooktop be started on a lower power setting for those with smaller inverters. I myself only have a 1200w inverter so i would like to know can you set a smaller power/wattage on this unit and the unit remembers that wattage setting. Therefore i could use in my camper trailer. If you can only start the unit at 2000w then its not suitable for me or other campers with smaller inverters as the inverter would trip straight away.
Adam - Rutherglen, VIC (10 months ago)
Ah - thanks guys.
If you use a smaller inverter, it will just trip anytime the cooktop draws more than what the inverter can handle. There's no ability to set the stove to a maximum wattage, but when the stove is in use you can select the heat level based on temperature or watts. If you remain under the capacity of your inverter you shouldn't have any issues, but be mindful the efficiency will be low, and you likely won't be able to fry or boil anything. As your cooking time will be increased, you'll likely end up using more amps overall.
Hope that helps!

Westinghouse Single Induction Cooktop (2000W1 answer
What’s the smallest size pot that can used. Eg. would like to use coffee percolator
Peter - Toolijooa, NSW (11 months ago)
G'day Peter,
Thats an excellent question - I've just checked in with Westinghouse, and they've confirmed the minimum for the cooktop to function is 12.5cm. Hope your percolator is bigger than that - fingers crossed!
