If your RV tent from Oztent is lacking some shade, then add some extra shelter space to relax under with the Side Awning from Oztent.
This awning is compatible with RV2, RV3, RV4 & RV5 tents, and will easily zip onto either side of the awning of these tents. If you want to use the side panel at the same time as the side awning, you can do so with no problem as it has a double zip. The awning is also double stitched with tape sealed seams for durability.
Included with this awning is two poles, plus guy ropes and pegs so you have everything you need to set it up. When it's time to pack up and head home, this awning also comes with its own carry bag for protection during transport and storage.
Hi there just wondering if this is waterproof? Cheers
G'day Hilary,
Oztent states this is waterproof with a rating of 1500mm.
Hi is this awning compatible with an RX5? Thanks Anthony
G'day Anthony,
No, the side awning isn't compatible with the RX range, due to the continuous zipper used on the complete panel system.
Does it go with rv3 plus
G'day Mj,
We've previously indicated that they are compatible, but we've had our wires crossed with Oztent sorry!
The side awning is not compatible with the RV Plus range.
Hi, does it fit on the Eyre E-2 tent
G'day Jerome,
I've spoken to Oztent and they've indicated the Eyre & RV series are not compatible.
We've never sold the Eyre, so unfortunately cant provided any real life feedback.
Does this awning extension have velcro along the top edge & therefore be adapted to fit the R1 tent side walls
G'day Debbie,
There is velcro on the side awning that is designed to attach to the velcro of the storm flap on the tent. You could try adapting it to fit your RV1, however, the velcro might not be strong enough to hold it in place.
Hi team, just wondering if this are UV rated?
G'day Toni,
There is no specified UV rating on the Oztent Side Awning.
Can this awning extension be used with a vanilla RV5 awning without the peaked pole setup? It seems like it should be fine, but I couldn't find any pictures of that.
G'day Darryl,
Yes, you can connect the side awning directly to the RV5 awning in either the flat or peaked configuration
Hi Snowys, would this side awning attach to my Oxley 7 canvas tent. If that doesn't work, do you have any suggestions to increase the shaded area under the tents awning. Thank you
G'day Penny,
Unfortunately, Oztent no longer makes the side panels compatible with the Oxley tents. The zippers on the Side Awning are a little different so unfortunately won't attach to your Oxley. If you're looking to add some panels we'd suggest contacting a local canvasware shop that might be able to make you some custom panels.
Hi could this side awning be lowered down to act like a wind break (RV3) I don't want side panels and was thinking I could guy or peg this down almost vertically when the breeze is coming from the side?
G'day Den,
You can use the Side Awning as a bit of a windbreak, there are eyelets on the ends that you could attach the guy ropes through and drop the side down a little to block the weather from just one side.
I know it would fall short given the RV1 awning extra length but would it still fit short? Cheers
G'day Den,
The Side Awning (RV2-5) is not compatible with the RV1 unfortunately. The zip tracker for the RV1 peaked side panels starts at the end of the awning and zips back towards the tent, whereas the Rv2-5 side awning attaches using the zip tracker starting at the tent side, so the zipper will be in the wrong spot to set it up.
I know it’s a long shot, but would this zip work with the BlackWolf Turbo 240 tents? I use the Turbo side and front panels to create another room and would like an additional awning but I can’t find anything that will do the job.
G'day Simon,
As far as we can tell the Oztent Side Awning won't work with the Turbo 240 tent. Have you had a look at the Turbo 240 Extenda Awning? This should do the trick depending on the exact configuration you're after.
Could this side panel be retro fitted to the RV1 if side panels are hot in use? I understand it will fall too short as the RV1 awning is longer. I don't like the side panels closed in feeling and just want it to create a bit of extra shade from the side. Thanks.
G'day Den,
Ben and I have just tried this out for you but unfortunately, it won't work. The zip tracker for the RV1 peaked side panels starts at the end of the awning and zips back towards the tent, whereas the Rv2-5 side awning attaches using the zip tracker starting at the tent side, so the zipper will be in the wrong spot to set it up.
Does oztent sell this side awning without the poles? I have too many poles already.
G'day Den,
Sorry mate but these are only available as you see it on our website, so you'll have some new poles to add to your collection!
Would this be able to attach to the new RX-4 or will there be a side awning for that model coming out?
G'day Sarah,
I wasn't too sure about this so I gave Oztent a call. They told me that the Oztent Side Awning for the RV4 isn't compatible with the RX-4 but that there will be side awnings coming out in time for the RX-4.
Hi, Can this attach to the front panel awning?
G'day Ryan,
If you've got an RV2 Tent, then you'll be able to connect the Oztent Side Awning to the front of your awning. If you've got another size, then it won't fit I'm sorry to say.
Can the awning attach to left or right side or one side only
G'day Mick,
This little beauty attaches to either side of the RV tent awning.
Already have RV5 and Foxwing. Just want to know if this is interchangeable
G'day Christo,Â
I've just spoken with Oztent, and they've said that the Side Awning doesn't have a zipper on the far end so you won't be able to attach it to the Foxwing awning unfortunately.Â
.
G'day G,
Good question - from what I can determine from looking at our display tent, there is only one zip option for each side, which means you can put either the side or the awning but not both.
It has a double zip so that you can still use the side panel in conjunction with this side awning.
Any chance Oztent will 'upgrade' the side panel to include zips on both sides? It would be great to link x2 tents.
G'day Annie,
It's not something that Oztent have made us aware of as far as any upgrades to their Side Awnings but we'll make the suggestion to them.
