A very handy mesh shelter, the Oztrail Screen Dome Combo is a roomy insect proof dome with the versatility of four side awnings that provide both shade and wind protection.

The sturdy pole configuration creates near vertical walls, while each side features an awning that can be zipped close for a wind break or privacy screen, or with the 3 included awning poles can be extended to create extra shade or sun protection for your screen room.

G'day John - The panels are sewn in at the top and zip down the sides. When you don't need them, they can be rolled up and hooked at the top. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

There are actually two zippered doorways Shae, one on each side, you just can't see it in the picture.

Also, with the 4 walls down do you think it would be pretty waterproof? Also, what is roof dimensions incase i need a tarp to waterproof it.

That's right Shae, all four sides can be extended as awnings. With all four walls zipped closed this screen dome will offer some water resistance, but Oztrail make no claims about it being waterproof so I don't recommend relying on it for wet weather. I don't have roof dimensions nor do we have one set up to check for you sorry. Given the floor dimensions are 335cm x 335 cm I would allow about 300 x 300 for the roof but it would be more beneficial to have a tarp that covered the whole shelter.

I had one that looked like this years ago that was like this but waterproof, any idea what it was? this was close to ten years ago but looked exactly like this but brillaintly waterproof.

I'm not sure what you would have had Shae, if it was 10 years ago then there is a good chance that the tent has been superseded or discontinued. This tent is designed mainly for shade and wind protection, it will keep out a little bit of water but I wouldn't depend on it. If you want a waterproof screen dome have a look at the Oztent Screen houses (2 models item codes 41949 & 42401), these have waterproof tops and sides that can be purchased separately.

The floor is a heavy duty PE bucket floor Margaret and it is sewn into/onto the shelter. It will keep both moisture and insects out.

What is approximate setup time?1 answer

This would suit our purpose however we were after a quick setup. The Coleman Instant Up screen shelter with the awnings is no longer available so this the next alternative.

Hi Peter, Its much easier to erect with two people which takes around 10-15 minutes however you should always allow a bit longer for the first time so roughly 20-25 minutes.

Hi Marea, unfortunately there isn't a separate flysheet available for these. It would give you a little bit of rain protection with the awnings rolled down, but I don't recommend relying on it for long periods.

Hi Steve, Oztrail make no waterproof/water resistant claims for this screen dome, so I would not rely on it in the rain. I don't have one of these on display at the moment, but we can work out an approximate length for the awning. The maximum internal height is 230cm, which would make the doors roughly 180 - 200cm high. Given the door covers extend as awnings, the length of the awning would also be roughly 180 - 200cm. You will need to take into account the slope on the side of the shelter when working out useable floor space under the awning. As for the awning poles, they are a fixed length.
