There’s plenty of room to wiggle in the Dometic Santorini FTK 4X8 TC, Inflatable 4 to 8-Person Tent.
Whether your stay is a brief one or not, don’t set aside two days for set-up and pack-down. The multi-point inflation and 10cm air poles allow you to kick back a relax or busy yourself with other camp jobs while the Tent is doing its thing. Then, the Quickpitch guying system means the remainder of the setup happens in mere seconds.
Stay protected from insects and the elements as the mesh panels keep unwanted visitors out while the polycotton material of this tent reduces condensation and regulates the interior temperature. A large ventilation panel located at the rear of the tent ensures superior interior comfort whether zipped up or not. If you’re feeding the family or fooling around with friends, the integral inflatable canopy this tent provides is a huge plus of the Dometic Santorini.

Tony - SA(1 month ago)
G'day Tony,
Ideally, yep - freight services are pretty good, but nothing guaranteed in the world of logistics! The earlier you order, the better. You can also head into our Adelaide store, or arrange a warehouse pick up if you're in town & short on time.

Roof cover1 answer
I wanted to ask about using a tarp over the top of the Dometic to improve its resistance to prolonged rain. I’ve had a Zempire and loved the clip on roof cover to provide more protection also against tree sap, heat etc. the tailored fit meant no extra poles or ropes. I’m assuming dometic don’t have anything like this off the shelf? That being the case I was hoping you would give your thoughts on getting something like this made up. We camp mainly at the beach in summer so the dometic feels a good fit for hot windy days but sadly summer does also often mean prolonged rain. A made to fit tarp seems to me to be a relatively cheap addition.
Scott - Lidcombe North, NSW (3 months ago)
G'day Scott,
Dometic don't have an 'off the shelf' roof cover for the Santorini - they do a footprint and tent carpet, but that's all at this stage. I'm sure you'd have no issues getting something custom made, you'd need to contact your local canvas and awning specialist to see what they could offer. They may be able to make something out of a lightweight canvas, or potentially a synthetic tarp material. Just doing a quick google, The Canvas Workshop in Clyde seems to be a good initial point of contact. I'm sure they could recommend someone else if they're not able to help.

Dometic vs Zempire Air Tent 3 answers
Just deciding between the two brands. We do camp over winter in the school holidays so occasionally we strike rain. The Zempire Air Tent does have a good waterhead rating but curious to understand how well the Dometic would cope with light to moderate amounts of rain. The size of the Dometic would really suit us.
Kerry - Melbourne, VIC(6 months ago)
G'day Kerry,
They are both great tents from Dometic and Zempire!
The Dometic Santorini would only handle light to moderate rain and is best suited as a Summer/Fair Weather tent. If you are camping in a rainy area and have heavy prolonged rain for more than an hour you may experience leaks. Dometic hasn't specified a Waterhead rating but has tested this fabric to hold 200L/m2 per hour which will hold out a light rain.
The Zempire would be better for winter as it can take a lot more rain if it does start to pour down and will hold up well in the wind.
Kaya - Snowys(6 months ago)
Thanks for the info! Am I roughly correct in assuming that 200L/m2 per hour is equivalent to about 8.5mm of rain per hour over a 24 hour period? I know it's a rough estimate, but that is still a fair amount of rain - tough decision!
Kerry - Melbourne, VIC(6 months ago)
All good! That would be the approximate amount of rain it can take so still a lot, although not suited to heavy rain. The Dometic does have the Polycotton Material which is more breathable but wouldn't be as water resistant as Zempire's Polyester. The Dometic Santorini will still hold up well in most weather and is a great tent!

outdoor lighting1 answer
Hey, Just wondering if the external gazebo and internal tent area has attachment points to put lighting strips or bars?
Del - Newborough, VIC (6 months ago)
G'day Del,
Check out our Features video from about the 6:50 min mark where Ben runs through the awning. There's a small carabineer and a few loops along the front air pole which you could definitely utilise for hanging lanterns or a flexible LED strip.

Dimensions including guy ropes1 answer
Hi. Can you please advise what the full dimensions are after pegging out all the guy ropes? I am trying to see what size site is needed with all guys pegged out correctly. Thanks so much for your help.
Lisa - QLD(8 months ago)
G'day Lisa,
You can peg guy ropes as close or as far out from the tent as you like, so there are no fixed measurements there. Usually, the rule of thumb would be to peg out around 1-1.5m from the base of the tent, so I'd add 3m to the length and the width to be on the safe side.
Hope that helps.

rainproof1 answer
How rainproof is the Polycotton? I have an OZtent and it's useless in heavy rain without the fly even if they say you don't need the fly. I would hate to buy this and get wet without the possibility of adding a fly.
Stewie - South Townsville, QLD (9 months ago)
G'day Stewie,
This polycotton tent is best suited in light to moderate weather, a good summer fair weather tent. If you are camping in a rainy area and you have heavy prolonged rain for more than an hour you may experience leaks.
Dometic hasn't specified a Waterhead rating but has tested this fabric to hold 200L/m2 per hour which will hold out a light rain.
You may be better suited to the Zempire Air Tent range as these have high Waterhead ratings and are well-tested in heavy rain to ensure you are kept dry.

Summer heat3 answers
How does this tent rate is summer heat? Does it get hot under the awning?
Jane - North Sydney, NSW (11 months ago)
G'day Jane,
The Air Tents are not going to rate as warmer or cooler that your Steel or Alloy pole tents. You are able to control your airflow with the windowns and the vents around the tent, so long as there is a breeze, you will be able to capture it. Hanging out under this awning would be the same as sitting under a gazebo or any other awning.
Lee - Snowys(11 months ago)
I was asking more about the canvas. I have an Oztrail fast frame and you die in it at 25 degrees. Under the awning is like a heat trap. So asking what it’s like in this tent. Nothing to do with poles or air. Just the canvas it self.
Jane - North Sydney, NSW(11 months ago)
G'day Jane,
In the summer Polycotton canvas does have advantages over straight polyester. The fabric is breathable and allows air circulation, preventing the trapping of warm air and enabling moisture to escape. This can create a cooler environment compared to polyester, which might retain heat and moisture.
There are always different factors that come into play, although this awning would be a little nicer to sit under in the heat than the darker-coloured polyester.
Ultimately, in warmer weather, polycotton canvas can offer better breathability and comfort while also having greater durability under the sun's heat when compared to polyester.

Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mat1 answer
Hi, is it possible to place two Zempire Monstamat Twin Camp Mattresses side by side in the rear sleeping space of this tent? Also, if we were to get the sleeping insert, would the Zempire Monstamat Twin fit in each seperate room assuming the answer to the first question is yes?
Sam - South Fremantle, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Sam,
The rear section sleeping area is 225L x 290W cm - two twin mats side by side are 264cm wide, so you will have space. The room insert is a total of 280cm wide, which means each room will be 140cm wide - the Zempire twin will fit in each, with a few cms to spare.

Awning sides1 answer
Hi is there any facility to attach some walls to that awning?
Anthony - Sandringham, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Anthony,
Theres no awning walls for the Santorini tents that we're aware of at this stage. There doesn't seem to be any attachment points that you could use to come up with an alternative solution - it may be possible to get some velcro strips added by your local canvas/awning specialist if you wanted to. The tent is largely designed to have a sleeping space at the back and an interior living space up the front, so if you set up your space in that fashion you can have that enclosed space, and maintain an open awning area.

New tent? 1 answer
Hey These tents look great but a bit nervous by the lack of reviews. When did they come out?
Simon - East Fremantle, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Simon,
They are literally brand spanking new, both to us and Dometic in general - only gone online in the last week or two, so there are any reviews coming in yet, but we've had a fair bit of a play around with them and we're impressed!

Sleeping area3 answers
Hi Confused by the dimensions of the sleeping area Sleeping Area: 225L x 290W cm | 190L x 290W cm Is it 225L or 190L? Does this reduce at all if you purchase the bedroom ad on?
Simon - East Fremantle, WA(1 year ago)
G'day Simon,
Thats a great question, and I can see how its not entirely clear! The sleeping space in total is 290W x 415L, if you were to add the bedroom add on the sleeping areas are divided as stated in the specs. Basically looking at the product images, the whole dark grey back end of the tent is 225L, and the front lighter grey section is 190L. Hope that clarifies!
Lauren - Snowys(1 year ago)
So, just to clarify, you can sleep on BOTH of the sections (back, darker room and front lighter room?). We are needing a tent to sleep 6 people comfortably and I am loving the huge, open awning space that this tent offers. Thanks for your help!
Anna - Mount Evelyn, QLD(7 months ago)
G'day Anna,
Yes, absolutely! Its up to you if you choose to use the bedroom pod add on.
