The Oztrail RV Awning Tent offers a quick and simple alternative to a free-standing tent by utilising your existing shade awning.
Constructed with 150 Denier Polyester walls and a heavy duty PVC bucket floor, the awning tent is easily pitched by attaching side release buckles and quick-clips to the frame of a 2.5m x 2.0m awning and height is adjusted with a zippered gusset around the base.
With sleeping space for four, the RV Awning Tent is well ventilated and accessed through front and side doors with No-See-Um mesh screens, while an oversized rear door allows easy access to your vehicle through the tent body.

Do these come in 2.5m along the car x 3m out from the car? If so what would the price be?

There is only one size in these sorry Leigh which suits 2.5m long awnings at 2m out from the car. Hopefully Oztrail bring out some other versions in the future, but we know of nothing just yet.

Hey Danny, as long as you have 6mm sail tracks on each side/end and the awning is close to the recommended awning side of 2.5 m wide and 2.0 m deep then I can't see why this wouldn't work. I'm not familiar with the Dometic Awnings, but your 4wd awning likely has sail tracks for this set-up, and assuming it too is a 2.5 x 2.0 m awning you could use it as an indication of suitability for your Dometic Awning. I'm not familiar with the Carefree Roll Out Awning sorry Robyn, the RV Tent requires an awning 2.5 m long and 2 m wide and attached with sail tracks and 'C' clips. I guess if your awning has these measurements, sail tracks and 25mm tube frame to attach the clips to then it will likely be suitable.

Hi Helen, I'm not familiar with the Dometic Awnings, the RV Tent is designed to fit under a standard 2.5 by 2.0 m 4WD awning. It is adjustable for height, but you would have to confirm the suitability of attachment points on your awning. We will have a video uploaded soon (hopefully by the end of the week) about this tent, this may help with your decision.

The gusset gives an adjustment of about 12cm Peter, with the maximum heights with the gusset expanded being about 1.45m on the lowest side, and 1.75m at the vehicle side.

Hi Dave, you should be fine with this set-up. The legs on the awning are adjustable, so the height will be depicted by the height of your roof racks. You could make the awning higher at the farthest point of the car for more head room. As for wind ratings, there is no straight forward answer and it comes down to a little common sense and how well you have secured the awning to the ground.

It's water resistant Phil, you would be fine in mild rain as the awning provides most water protection from above, but in severe conditions you may experience some water seepage through seams and zips.

Hi Mike, the attachments are quite universal and as long as the awning has sail tracks on both sides, then the RV Awning tent will attach. The only catch is that Oztrail make their awnings slightly different in dimensions to most (2.5 x 2.1), so you may find the roof sags a little for a 2.5 x 2.0 awning.

Hi Toni, if by putting on a Toyota Hi-Ace van, you mean placing the tent on roof racks, then provided your roof rack and vehicle roof load ratings are adhered to, and the tent is secured within the confines of the van, then you should not have a problem. I hope this answers your question.

Hi again Gen. We sell a couple of awnings from Ironman and Oztrail, however we only have these in-store. I recommend heading to your local 4WD or roof rack store and they will be able to recommend an awning that is compatible with your vehicle and roof rack set up.

Hi Gen, these are designed to fit under most standard awnings that are 2.4 metres long and 2 metres out from the vehicle. They easily attach with clips and buckles to the awning frame and have height adjustment straps built in.
