Hello. I would like to ask about the points made in one of the reviews. Is the water proofing and seal as well as ventilation as bad as the reviewer says? Thanks
G'day Maz,
Ventilation is abit tricky on this swag if its raining due to the top entry doorway.
You could have the storage hutch door open with the mesh end and this could offset that alitte, otherwise if its not raining you could just have the canvas top door rolled back.
In terms of waterproofing, this swag is seam sealed, but being a canvas product we also recommend that you season it well before using in wet weather.

G'day, what is the weight of the swag and poles without the included foam mattress? Thanks!
G'day Mick,
We've not actually weighed it in real life, but based on mattresses of similar size and thickness we'd say you'd save about 1kg of weight by taking it out.
Can this swag be used with a spreader pole to make it free standing?
G'day Denis,
This swag doesnt have the corresponding eyelets for use with a spreader pole.
In theory, you could retrofit eyelets to the central pole tab on either end, however, given that this is a top entry swag I feel like a ridge pole would negatively impact access. Doesn't mean it's impossible though! Just an important consideration.
Hi is the mattress 45cm wide the whole length? If so could foam be cut to make a mattress the same coffin shape as the swag?
G'day Jo,
We don't currently have a display model to double check this, but the sleeping area in the swag is quite rectangular, with the head end having a triangular shaped hutch area for gear storage. The supplied mattress is 45cm wide, so that the overall roll is 50cm long, and will fit on a motorbike. If you wanted to use it for other types of travel you could get some foam and have it custom cut to fit the full width of the swag, however, it will roll a little longer.
Are there any self inflating mattresses that would suit the Ranger solo (replace the supplied one)
G'day Max,
It's a bit of an odd size due to its shape and as such we don't have any mattress that will fit the 45cm width. Most of our Self Inflating air mattresses in our hiking range are above 50cm in width. It might be worth asking Clarke Rubber if they have any similar type foam that could be cut to size.
