How do you get ventilation in rain?1 answer
The fly on this tent doesn't go past the windows, so wondering how it would you in the rain? if you have the internal privacy screens open and it starts raining, water would pour in wouldn't it?
Kelly - Northcote, VIC(9 months ago)
G'day Kelly,
The Pronto 4 has side storm gussets that prevent wind-driven rain on wet days yet still allows the warm air to escape. It also has upper vents that allow warm humid air to escape, minimising condensation build-up.
The internal waterproof window panels reliably seal out wind and wet weather, these would need to be zipped up on the inside when raining, you may get some water in if these aren't done up on the inside.

Tension springs for guy ropes1 answer
I am wondering if it’s possible to incorporate those tension springs to the guy ropes -any advice on that. Thanks
Barry - Thornbury, VIC(10 months ago)
G'day Barry,
You can use something like the Supa Peg Standard Guy Rope Trace Springs to attach to the guy ropes on the tent. This will help the tent even more in the wind as this will allow the guy ropes to move with the wind and reduce the risk of damage to the tent.

Replace the air poles 1 answer
I see there are replacement air poles —are the poles easy to replace your self And what cost are you looking at
Barry - Melbourne, VIC(10 months ago)
G'day Barry,
You can source replacements direct from Zempire here. I would not think they are overly hard to replace and if you check the Zempire Youtube channel there is a video on how to replace.

Pump 1 answer
Watch videos on erecting Pronto 4 and had the curious thought—are the small pumps say like Flextail ones (or others) that will automatically inflate the tent and can be set at which ever PSI you require
Barry - Thornbury, VIC(10 months ago)
G'day Barry,
The Zempire Air Tents require about 7-9 PSI of pressure in the air poles to set up the tent. The manual pump it comes with can do this otherwise the Zempire Supercell Pump is recommended, this can go anywhere from 1-20 PSI. I have just had a look at the Flextail pumps and they won't be able to provide enough pressure to inflate the tent.

Pegs1 answer
I use 8mm screw in pegs Will they work instead of pegs that come with tent
Barry - Melbourne, VIC(10 months ago)
G'day Barry,
Yep! You can use any aftermarket peg you like with the Pronto tent range. Screw-in pegs can come in pretty handy.

Recommended groundsheet/footprint?1 answer
Hi Snowy's, is there a footprint for this tent? If not what sort/size groundsheet would you recommend?
Tam - Canberra, ACT(1 year ago)
G'day Tam,
If you're wanting a footprint as in something that just covers the floor of the tent, you'll be needing something close to 2.38m². The Ultramesh Tarp in the 8x8ft size is the closest option that we have - if you're wanting something that will also act as a groundsheet in the annex/awning area of the tent as well, it's just a matter of measuring how much space you want to be covered and finding an option that fits closest to that.

Awning poles Zempire Pro 4 Air tent1 answer
The poles supplied with this tent assemble but are not height adjustable and in the demo video they have a decided pooling factor-IMO Question-could I not use them but instead use my Black Wolf Turbo 240 ones so as to have a complete horizontal annexe
Barry - Melbourne, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Barry,
Yes, absoluetly. You can use any awning pole with a spigot end, you're not limited to using the provided poles only. Its common for people to use different awning poles, depending on their needs. Hope that helps!

Stretchers1 answer
Can you please advise if two single oztrail stretchers or a double oztrail stretcher would fit into this tent? I’m aware the walls slope, but hoping the stretchers fit.
Sarah - Eltham, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Sarah,
Yes they will. The sleeping area of this tent is 238 x 238. Whilst the walls slop, it's only marginally, so you'd probably be wanting stretchers no longer than 210cm - most stretchers wont be anyway. Hope that helps.

Pronto 4 1 answer
I have actually seen one on a show room floor & spent considerable time checking it out One thing I was negative about was the fly and it’s angle The poles are connected together (but not height adjustable Could I use my Black Wolf 240 Turbo annexe poles instead to get a better angle I worry about pooling
Barry - Melbourne, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Barry,
The poles are just standard awning poles with a spigot on the end. You can replace them with literally any other brand poles that have a spigot end, with no issues at all. Hope that helps!

Bug mesh1 answer
Is the bug mesh midge proof?
David - Sydney (2 years ago)
I'd say it is about as midge proof as most tents, David, Zempire simply state it to be 'bug-proof', but midges seem to be able to get in through anything so I'd recomment using insect repellant measures also. ~ Ben

Awning dimensions 1 answer
What are dimensions of awning please and thanks
Lesley - Beacon Hill, NSW(2 years ago)
G'day Leslie,
I've just checked in with Zempire on this one & the main section of the awning is around 1.7m² There's a few different ways to set the awing up, and there are small additional triangles of awning on each side.

Air pump - Zempire Pronto 4 Inflatable Air Tent V21 answer
Tent comes with manual pump and Zempire have a 12V option available but it costs a hefty $200 on top of the $530 for the tent. Will the smaller pumps by Companion and the like (around $70) do the job, given its only a 3-person tent?
David - Mornington, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day David,
No, they wont. The units dont have anywhere near the PSI required to inflate an air tent, and in addition to this, they're not compatible with larger style Boston valves. The manual pump should get the tent up relatively quick and easy, we have had feedback from some customers that their children have been able to set the tent up mostly, with the adults finishing off the final few pumps. So if you are concerned about difficultly or time, dont worry - its relatively straight forward!
If there are other issues in the way of using the manual pump, some people have managed to use a portable 12v air compressor & obtain a Boston valve adapter. There is still a cost involved if you havent already got an air compressor, but it is overall a cheaper alternative. Something like the Bush Ranger Rv Air Compressor for example, but the valve adapter needs to be obtained from eBay or similar.
Hope that info helps somewhat!

Mattress1 answer
Would a double height queen inflatable mattress fit ok in this tent?
Karen - West Lakes Shore, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Karen,
It will take up most of the space, but yes it will fit - if you butt it up against one of the walls (side or rear) you'll have about an 80cm strip of space for access and gear storage. Hope that helps!

Pronto 4 vs Pronto51 answer
Apart from the size what are the differences between the Pronto 4 and the pronto 5?
Peter - Croydon North, VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Peter,
The only real difference is the size - the Pronto 5 has a rear window & 2 fiberglass hoops to maintain roof structure, but all materials & functions between the two are the same. Whichever one you go with depends on the size you are after.

Ease of setup air tent vs instant up vs fast frame1 answer
I'm looking for a tent that I can set up on my own. Which do you think is easier to set up out of the air tent, instant up or fast frame tent?
Elyssa - Cooks Hill, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Elyssa,
An Instant Up & Fast Frame are essentially the same thing - a physically framed tent, where as the air tents are inflatable. In terms of time frame difference, theres not much in it. The air tents generally come all in one, where you only have to inflate and peg out, where as the instant framed tents will have a separate fly. When push comes to shove, if you were to set them up next to each other and time yourself, you'd be pretty much bang on for each. The time and ease isn't really determining factor, so I'd be looking at features & other advantages to make a decision.
