The Cobb Premier Cooking System is a unique and portable cooking system that you can use to bake, smoke, fry, boil and BBQ at just about any outdoor event or location.
Made from stainless steel, the Cobb Cooker has a rugged build with a refined appearance that would fit in just as easily on a gourmet outdoor breakfast buffet as it would in a campsite. You've got three choices in fuel for the Cobb, the purpose-made Cobblestones, about 300 grams of charcoal, or 8-10 briquettes, and while the inside of the Cobb can reach temperatures up to 260°C, the stainless steel mesh base stays completely cool on the outside. On the inside a moat allows you to add water or beer to the oven to keep your roast moist, and the design keeps oils and fats from dripping onto the burning fuel for healthy smoke-free cooking.
The Cobb's design circulates heat evenly around your food and the high dome lid provides enough space for an entire roast chicken whilst the plethora of optional extra's enable you to fry and bake anything from vegetables, steak, sausages, fish and even pizza. The Cobb Premier Cooking System really is a portable kitchen in a bag.

The second-last photo suggests that the roasting rack is included, but I notice that it is offered for sale as an accessory. Could you please confirm whether the roasting rack comes with the Cobb Premier? (Ditto for the bag.)
G'day Jacqui,
The Premier Portable Grill comes with the bag, however, it doesn't come with the Roasting Rack (we've indicated this in the staff tip in the specifications section), so you'll need to purchase it separately if you're wanting to use it to roast.
Which is the quickest fuel and is it readily available?
G'day Michelle,
If you use the Cobb Cobblestones then they'll be ready to go within about 5 minutes, and will give you around 2 hours of cooking time. If you use heat beads you'll be ready to go within about 15-20 minutes. We're not able to ship the Cobb Cobblestones, but it is fairly readily available in camping stores Australia wide.
When I order what other accessories are needed as well as a roasting rack ?also the cost..thank you.
G'day Janice,
You can also add the roasting rack to the bag if you'd like that too. If you click the tab that says 'you might also like' underneath the Q&As there are a range of popular accessories. We find most people will get the recipe book, roasting rack, as well as the frypan, obviously depending on what you like to cook!
Will the cooker fit in the bag while the dome extender accessory is attached?
G'day John,
I've just tried this out and unfortunately, the bag won't quite zip shut with the dome extender attached. There are a few centimetres of spare space, but not quite enough for the extender.
Yes it will. Put the extension ring on, put the lid in upside down, put other accessories in the lid then put the grill plate on top.
The fourth picture looks like there is a lifting handle to move the various plates/ accessories which would be an advantage when hot. I would like to buy this bbq cobb premium bbq but I would like to verify what accessories are needed and available for purchase. Snowys has an excellent range of accessories. I am prepared to buy accessories but I didn't see the lifting handle for sale and I don't know if it is a requirement for usage for a novice.
G'day Lauren,
Yes the Cobb Premier is supplied with a 'Cobb Lifter' which can be used to take the plate out and pop other accessories in.
I mean, can I put my caffetiere on it? (Italian style espresso maker- it’s metal, used on a stove top, sometimes called a koffeepot)
G'day Olivia,
I've just double-checked and unfortunately no, there is no way you'd be able to use a caffetiere on the Cobb. The basket diameter is a little large for one, and the heat concentration isn't really designed for this type of use.
The Cobb Kettle comes with a removable base/collar/heat-ring. Put this over the coal basket. Just put a a small open trivet or cake stand on on top of that to put your coffee pot on. I use a Bialetti Brikka and a Bialetti Mukka and a Bialetti Moka with this.
I'm looking into buying one of these second hand but the seller has informed me that sections of the base are rusted due to disuse or lack of maintenance. Do you have any information on replacing damaged parts and the cost for them as I have heard that Cobb does sell them.
G'day Elliot,
Thanks for getting in touch. At this point in time Snowys don't have many spare parts available so it's probably best to check out the Spare Parts listings on the Cobb Australia Website.
Can you use charcoal?
G'day Robyn,
Cobb suggests that you use 8-10 briquettes, 300g of charcoal or purpose made Cobb fuel. So yes you can use Charcoal.
Hi ..If I want to cook a dish that only takes ten minutes to cook ...how do I" turn off" the heat beads for use again another day please
G'day Maureen,
I'm not sure it's possible to turn heat beads like this "off" sorry, not if you want to be able to turn them back on anyway. There are some Cobb cooking groups on Facebook that people use to trade tips and tricks, they might have some suggestions for using the Cobb to cook for shorter durations.
Just pop your used heat beads or charcoal in a Milo tin and seal them in with the lid. Lack of oxygen will put them out. The tin will get super hot though do you need to wait for it to boil down. Just use them again with fire starters.
Are they able to be delivered.
G'day Christine,
Unfortunately, we don't sell cobblestones to go with the Cobb Premier Portable Grill I'm sorry to say.
One of the points says ".....even boils the billy". So I can boil veggies in it, or a soup?
G'day Linda,
We haven't tried this ourselves, you can boil in this grill so you could definitely cook vegetables or make soup, along with heaps of other recipes which you can check out on Cobb's website here.
Most other place include this in their description. Just want to confirm. Thanks
Are you able to cook on this cooker as it is when you buy it or do you have to purchase one of the accessories mentioned in the last dot point to be able to use it? eg the roasting rack.
