Can it stay in a particular mode1 answer
Can it stay in a particular mode e.r. red night so when it's turned of then on again later on it will come on in red night mode i.e. it doesn't default to white light.

Great question Stephanie! I've just been playing around with this little beauty and yes once you've cycled through to the red light mode it can be turned off and back on in the same mode. It also has an amazingly bright flash that alternates between flashing red and white for when you're cycling!

Will it give my smart phone 1 or 2 full charges when it is fully charged? more or less?

We’ve spoken to the supplier, and they have said that the Biolite Power Mini’s primary function is a source of light, the battery charging function is just supposed to be an emergency boost – so you would maybe get 1 or 2 bars of charge on a smartphone at the maximum. If you’re looking for a full charge, your best bet would be a powerbank.
