Check out the Portable Propane Heater as a great alternative.
I have this heater can Snowys supply a gas bayonet hose for this heater so it can be connected to my caravan
G'day Glenn,
Unfortunately not, Australian Gas Association standards have recently changed, so this heater can only be used with the hose provided, attached directly to a POL gas bottle.
The 227gram gas usage you claim is this on setting 3 or setting 1
G'day Douglas,
The gas consumption information is provided by the manufacturer, which we just highlight. Unfortunately, there's no further specifics on what setting this has been measured at. I'd probably take a guess that this is a maximum consumption.
Im intrested in mr heater tank top heater one that screws on top of 9kg bottle do you sell them or can you get them in? Thank you
G'day Vasko,
Unfortunately the Mr Heaters are no longer available in Australia, so we're not able able to help out on this occasion.
Hi there, Does the regulator have indicator for how much gas is left in bottle?
G'day Ron,
No, the regulator isn't able to tell you how much gas is left in the bottle. If you're wanting something that can show you this, we'd recommend checking out the Gas Safety Valve & Gauge.
Hi team Can you use a Coleman propane single use gas bottle with this heater? If yes what adaptor do I require to do so. Thanks
G'day Brent,
No, you won't be able to run this heater from a single-use Coleman Propane cylinder. If you're after a heater that will do this we'd recommend checking out the Portable Propane Heater.
I am wondering if this is ok to sit this unit directly onto Astroturf which is often found at campsites? I want to make sure it won't melt or burn it. Thanks.
G'day Paul,
The base, sides and back of the heater unit will stay cool enough to touch, so you won't have any troubles using the unit on astroturf found at some campsites.
Pilot ignites bit does not remain on. Have held 10 or 15 seconds and longer. But when i release the button. It goes out. Can you suggest anything.
G'day Helena,
Sorry to hear you're having some trouble with your heater, usually 10-15 seconds should do the trick, but if you've given it a few tries and it is still going out then we'd recommend contacting Companion Customer Service on 1300 555 197, they should be able to troubleshoot with you over the phone.
When I light heater only third ceramic plate will work other 2 just flicker First time used.
G'day Patrick,
It sounds like something might not be quite right there, best bet will be to jump onto our warranty claims page and our warranty team will be able to have a look and advise you what to do.
I like the looks and output of this more than the Mr. Buddy, but being metal with a painted finish, it would scratch very easily in transport without a suitable carry/protective bag. Is there such a bag available for the unit as an option, or do you stock something suitable for it please? Many thanks :-)
G'day John,
Unfortunately, we don't have any bags that are designed to fit this heater.
Hi there, I have a 12m² apartment balcony (open front & one side so plenty of ventilation) and I'm tossing up between this and a short patio gas heater. I'd rather this as I can take it camping too and pack it away in summer. My question is, would it heat as well (or close)? I see one review said the lady uses it for that and it's as good as her patio heater but I'm skeptical. Thanking you in advance.
G'day Virginia,
The Portable LP Gas Camp Heater actualy has a pretty decent output for its compact size but whether that is going to provide enough warmth for your personal needs really comes down to how much you feel the cold and of course, how cold it actually is. It's not designed to project heat far and wide, therefore is unlikely to make your entire balcony cozy but is certainly good enough for personal use, and as you say, it does have the added versatility of being portable :) How it compares with a short patio gas heater..? That's a tricky one to offer a direct answer on as we don't stock those types of heaters so are unable to test them out. Cheers
I am limited in my van storage area.
G'day Trevor,
I've just measured this for you now, the unit is 41cm high with the handle up, and 37.5cm high with the handle down.
Where can you get replacement ceramics for the heater?? Can’t seem to find??😊
G'day Tony,
Unfortunately mate, we're not going to be able to help you out on this one as we don't recommend replacing these parts yourself. We suggest getting in touch with an authorised gas technician who has the licence and experience to safely point you in the right direction. Good luck :)
I am thinking of buying this heater online but I don't know what other parts I need to buy to start using it. Could you please advise me of the hose size and regulator I need to get for it and the recommended gas cylinder please
G'day Adam,
The Portable LP Gas Heater is supplied with a 1500mm long hose that has an inline regulator. They have a POL fitting on the end so will fit your BBQ style 4kg or 9kg bottle that you can pick up online.
I have a small workshop and don't want a heater on the floor. I have no problem with the air being refreshed.
G'day Tim,
There are 3 slots on the back of the Companion Portable LP Gas Camp Heater so that it can be mounted on a wall if you wanted to do that.
Does this unit run on the small 3kg gas cylinders with a 3/8" fitting? Or will that require a conversion?
G'day Chris,
You sure can use this with smaller gas cylinders, you'll just need the right adaptor. This one from Gasmate will do the trick nicely.
