Hi how do you erect the panel, are there poles to keep it up or do you have to lay it over something? Thank you
G'day Geoff,
The Portable 200W Solar Mat Kit is designed to be pegged into the ground or laid over a bonnet/windshield and secured by tying some rope or cord through the eyelets on the mat.
Thank you does the mat come with pegs and poles
It doesn't Geoff, so we'd suggest just grabbing yourself some galvanised pegs if you're planning to peg it into the ground. In terms of poles, they're not really designed to be put up anywhere with poles sorry.
Hi I have a Cub camper with a built in regulator and a Anderson plug. Can I still use this panel? Thankyou
G'day Geoff,
We can't see any issues with using this solar panel as it should be a fairly standard setup. It's probably best to check with Cub though just to be on the safe side!
Hi Do you guys sell this Anderson lead as an alternative to std?
G'day Richard,
The 200W Solar Mat Kit is supplied with a 5m Anderson Cable. We don't actually sell a 10m version, but I believe you can get these from a few of the 4wd / electronics retailers.
As above
G'day Perry,
I've just been having a very scientifically involved discussion with our resident solar expert who has presented me with a sheet of equations fit for a PhD ;) After decoding all those numbers, the consensus is that you'd be right on the limit. Theoretically yes, that combo would work but you'd need a full 5-6 hours of sunshine on the 200W panel to replace the power drawn from the battery overnight. The 200W Solar Kit matched with the 44Ah Power Pack would be enough to comfortably run a 40-50Ltr fridge but your 72 would demand optimal conditions and not leave any margin for variables. Hope that helps mate! Cheers :)
small unit with courtyard
G'day Suzanne,
The Roman Portable Solar Mat kits are really designed to be used when you're on the road, to provide power to your car fridge etc. They're not designed to power a home or home appliances, they're best suited to recharging a battery you can then use to power portable appliances.
Hi Is this solar mat the same as the Primus Sunpower 200w As the specs are the same .please advise Thank You
G'day Milan,
You're correct, the Roman Portable 200W Solar Mat Kit used to be branded
Also one other question. The newer panel are able to still produce power even when one or more panels are in shade or not working. Is this true for this Roman solar panel?
G'day Max,
The Roman Portable 200w Solar Mat Kit will still work if some panels are in the shade or not fully rolled out.
Is this panel water and weather proof
G'day Max,
The Roman Portable 200W Solar Mat Kit is weatherproof and according to Roman, has been "designed to withstand Australia's toughest conditions".
