The Pilbara C0 Sleeping Bag is built for the tourer who likes to enjoy a roomy and soft sleeping bag, for a soundless snooze out in the elements.
The entire bag is made from cotton, so it’s comfy and breathable. It also has a comfort cuff at the top for burrowing down in your bag. You won’t have to grope about blindly on the tent floor for your phone or headtorch– as the Pilbara C0 comes with an internal pocket for keeping a device close to hand.
If your feet are the first thing that always gets freezing cold, then the cosy foot fleece in the base of the bag will keep your toes from turning to icicles. On the other hand, if you’re a hot sleeper the separate foot zip allows you to stick your feet out or get some fresh air. The Pilbara has a snag free zipper, so you won’t have any bleary-eyed middle-of-the-night struggles if you need to make a loo visit.
When you’re all done dozing, the roll control helps you keep is straight while you pack it back into the included 4-way compression stuff sack. For a soft and roomy sleeping bag for touring, the Coleman Pilbara C0 is just what you need.

Hi there it says the entire bag is cotton, can you confirm the fill is cotton also? Thank you
G'day Mel,
It's not, no - the inner and outer sleeping bag material is cotton, but not the insulation.
If its not a down fill bag, the insulation will be synthetic.
Cotton can work ok for summer weigh domestic quilts, but it isnt suitable for sleeping bags.
Unfortunately as an insulative material it's warmth to weight ratio isn't great, and there's limitations with compressibility.
Hi, I can see in the pics on the website the colour of the sleeping bag exterior looks grey but the video shows more a soft green? Could you confirm please?
G'day Anne,
Colours are so tricky to convey, especially when everyone's device display settings can be slightly different.
I would say the colour is more like the video, but its definitely not green - its 100% grey
Does this come in a left or right zip? I have a Redgum and hate it because the zip is on the right when inside but I want it on the left as I sleep with it unzipped and the zip always seems to be the wrong side for me.
G'day Den,
Majority of single-orientation sleeping bags will have a zip on the right-hand side, but because this particular sleeping bag doesn't have a hood it doesn't matter which side is facing up.
If you put the logo side towards the ground, you're ultimately flipping it over & having the zip on your left.
Hope that helps.
Can the Coleman Pilbara 0c and -5c bags be zipped together?
G'day Paul,
They sure can, the zippers on both Pilbara bags are the same, so you can zip together the 0c and -5c versions.
We are planning a trip to the Kimberley next August. The evening could get down to 10-15c, would this be just right despite the rating is for zero but Snowys’ rating is 10? We are worried it’s too warm as we rather add a liner / layering up. Thanks.
G'day Sharon,
The Pilbara should do the trick for your Kimberley trip, these bags are a really popular model, and they can be opened up as a quilt for warmer weather, or paired with a fleece liner for cooler weather. Our Snowys Rating is based on customer feedback, however, it is also worth having a read through the reviews as a few people have made reference to the temperatures they've used their bags in.
Looking for a good cotton sleeping bag but prefer blue like the C5. Is it a single colour per style or do the C0 and C5 styles both come in either red or blue?
G'day Nick,
The Pilbara range of sleeping bags are coloured based on style, so the C0 is red, and the C-5 is blue as per the images :)
As above.
G'day Diane,
The Pilbara C0 Sleeping Bag is rated for a comfort temperature of 0'C so we can't give you any guarantee of how warm you'll be in temperatures below zero. There is some extra fleece in the foot to help with warmth, but if you have cold feet we'd recommend some nice warm socks.
I am looking at purchasing one of these Coleman Sleeping bags - it would be mainly be used in the warmer months but I do want to have the cooler months covered off as well (nothing worse than being cold) - do you think this bad with the Liner would be a better purchase than just going straight for the -5 rated Coleman bag?
G'day Kate,
The Coleman Pilbara C-5 Sleeping Bag has a removable inner lining that when removed, makes it basically the exact same bag as the C0 option. I reckon your best bet might be to go for the C-5, that way you get the best of both worlds.
G'day Kate,
Not wrong at all, if you got a liner that was rated as adding 10 degrees to your Coleman Pilbara C0 Sleeping Bag, then it would go down to about -10° when using the liner.
Can these be zipped together to form a double?
Sure can Tynelle. But rather than zipping together side by side with the zipper down the middle, they are laid one on top of the other and zipped up with the zipper around the perimeter.
Do these bags come left & right so 2 can be joined together?
G'day Dave,
Unfortunately, the Coleman Pilbara C0 Sleeping Bag doesn't come with alternative side zips. However, if you bought two and laid one on top of the other, you will be able to zip them together to form a double sleeping bag.
i would be using it for sleepovers in a group home
G'day Stephen,
The Coleman Pilbara C0 Sleeping Bag has a recommended maximum head height of 210cm. Your height (6"4) is approx 195cm, so you should have plenty of room in this bag.
