The Pegasus chair from Explore Planet Earth may look dinky, but despite its feather-light construction, it can support the weight of chairs twice its size. Perfect for motorcycle tourers, or gram counting hikers, the Pegasus will have you comfortable whether you’re on the trail or side of the road.
This chair has a mesh panel down the middle of the seat which’ll keep the airflow going, and your derriere comfortable. The light aluminium frame is where this chair really shines, as that’s what will keep your load very light.
Do yourself a favour and get yourself a Pegasus, it’s worth the minimal weight it adds to your load, and your back will thank you for it later.

For kids?1 answer
Would this chair be suitable for young kids (2-5)? I’ve seen some of this style of chair tip over forwards easily
Lisa - Canberra, ACT (3 months ago)
G'day Lisa,
In term of size it would suit, but being such a light weight chair its better to have a bit of body weight in it. It wouldn't be an issue with just sitting, or comfortablility, but if they're moving around alot in the chair it will tip easier than a bigger chair. I'd probably say it's better suited to 5-6y.o

Pegasus chair stability1 answer
Is there any possibility that the chair can tip over backwards with normal use? I love the weight of the chair, but as I have significant back issues, the possibility of toppling over backwards is my only concern. PS I am very short & light weight.
Helen - Blackwood, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Helen,
We've received a lot of real life feedback on these chairs, and stability has never been an issue. Personally having sat in these and similar style chairs a fair bit, I've never felt like the chairs are going to tip over. It looks like you're not too far from our Keswick store in Adelaide, we have these chairs available to try out instore, which may help ease your mind.

Jake - Melbourne, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Jake,
Unfortunately the Helinox Chair One Footprint is not compatible with the Pegasus Hiking Chair, as the dimensions don't line up!

weights of chairs1 answer
and what does the breeze compact chair weigh what is the lightest chair you have
mell - cairns(6 years ago)
G'day Mell,
I've just double checked the weight of the Breeze Compact Chair and it is 1.09kg. You can check the weight of all of our products under the specifications tab, the other chairs that are a little lighter are the Sub 1, Mantis, and then the lightest is the Mayfly.

Is this chair suitable for music festivals ie will not obstruct view from those behind1 answer
height of seat from ground
Linley - Bendigo(7 years ago)
G'day Linley,
You should be alright at a festival with one of the EPE Pegasus Hiking Chairs. I've certainly sold them to people for events like Womad before and not had any returns or issues, but I'd think this is about as tall as you'd be able to get away with.

Is this chair suitable for tall people1 answer
Im 6ft 4 and wanted to know if this chair is tall enough
Graham Tolland - Kalkite(7 years ago)
G'day Graham,
Due to your height, I would say that this chair is going to be on the small side. We have staff here that over 6ft tall and they find it is ok to sit in the Pegasus as long as you stretch your legs out to rest.
This chair is rather low to the ground, so getting in and out of the chair won’t be smooth for your size. As the Pegasus hiking Chair is so lightweight and compact, there is a compromise on height, unfortunately.
