For the solitary stargazers, the couples without kids, or the small families with big outback dreams – the Panther 2000 Rooftop Tent by 23Zero is the fold-out hangout above the rest.
From those late pullups and departures at dawn to multi day stays and sleeping through the sunny haze – the lift and fold design enables a quick set up and pack down for any road trip timeline, while the Light Suppression Technology (LST) reduces sunlight. Strong enough to support big dreams, the two piece aluminium honeycomb baseboard is fitted with a high density mattress and polyester quilt for plush comfort out bush. Achieve optimum ventilation and a dry interior during adverse weather with arched windows on either side. Swap the city lights with the outback night thanks to a removable flysheet and stargazing roof window.
Power up with T-slot racks that enable solar panel mounting – and turn it on when off the grid, with LED strip lighting featuring USB plugs and storage pockets for power packs (not included). Keep the tackle together in the internal storage pockets and your kicks from heading up sticks with external shoe pockets. Your sleep setup can remain stowed and secured in the tent to maximise the storage space in your vehicle. Built in elastic shock bands make it easy to pack flat without the excess flap.

Fly1 answer
Is the tent waterproof without the fly ? I would prefer to leave it off for the stargazing window
Browny - Geelong, VIC(10 months ago)
G'day Browny,
Yep, it is - but like with any canvas tent/swag, just make sure the rooftop tent inner gets a good season. It's a good way to go in the finer months, but it would be preferable to use it more often than not. The fly isn't just for waterproofing, it doubles up to protect the canvas from prolonged UV, bird poo, leaf litter, etc and will also help manage condensation. Overall it's great to keep it in use to get the maximum life out of your roof top tent.

Installation 1 answer
What are the measurements of the rails that you attach to your car that being length part from each other and width
What are the lengths of the t-rail tracks on the roof of the canopy shell? And how far apart are they please?
Neil - Brisbane City, QLD (1 year ago)
G'day Neil,
I have just gotten in contact with 23 Zero and confirmed some measurements, the t-rail track length on the roof is 1150 mm and the distance between them is 900 mm.

Star gazing window1 answer
Does this open to the outside so you can stand up in the tent when the window is open?
Chris - Buderim, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Chris,
Yes, the star gazing window opens to the outside, it has a fabric and a mesh panel when both are unzipped you can stand up out of the tent. You will also need to move the Fly Sheet over half of the Tent to see outside to make that open-style roof.

Latest word on an annex1 answer
G'day Snowy's, what's the latest word on an annex to go with the Panther hard shell RTTs?
Andrew - Brighton East, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Andrew,
I'm not sure about the timeline into retail stores, but 23Zero are expecting their first run of annexes to arrive from the manufacturer around April. Hope that helps!

Length added when open1 answer
Wondering how much extra space needed for the shell top to open. On the hinge side, the overhang of the shell top. I was hoping to put the hinge end to the back of the cab, not sure if it will hit the cab when open. Thanks
Scott - Tecoma, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Scott,
Great question. If just measured this one on our display unit and you'll need an extra 25cm of clearance. Hope you can make it work!

2000 panther hard shell 1 answer
Is there an option for the tent to open up to the drivers side? I currently have a 270 awning on the passenger side
Jarrad - Oaks Estate, ACT (2 years ago)
G'day Jarrad,
As long as your roof racks allow it, the rooftop tent can be mounted any way you like - opening to either side, or the rear. Hope that helps!

Rain fly1 answer
Can you use the spring poles to use the canvas door as a small annex when the fly is removed?
Luke - Safety Bay, WA (2 years ago)
G'day Luke,
Yeah, we've tried this out on our display model in-store & you can make it work! Definitely recommend the fly if you're expecting any poor weather, or windy conditions. The tension on just the door flap as an awning isn't as fool proof as the intended fly awning. Hope that helps!

Annexe option1 answer
Hi. Is there an annexe room option available for this tent (or a planned future option)? Cheers
Simon - Morphett Vale, SA(2 years ago)
G'day Simon,
Nothing at the moment, but we do know 23Zero are working on something potentially for the future. Watch this space!
