The Outdoor Connection Outhouse is a sturdy and well thought out toilet or shower tent shelter for your campsite.
Its best feature is a “Dryzone” which creates a dry area for clothes behind a zippered plastic sheet whilst showering. Made of sturdy steel and fibreglass poles that create a very strong structure when pegged out in full.
I was wondering if the inside is silver-lined like the OZ-trail? Thx
G'day Gigi,
The Outdoor Connection Outhouse Toilet Shower Tennt doesn't have a silver lining like the Oztrail does, no. It does have its own opaque lining that reduces shadows and heat but it's not quite at the same level as the silver lining. It is slightly brighter inside the tent though because of that.
Is there a video on youtube for this ensuite tent Thanks
G'day Paul,
We've made a video of setting up the double Outdoor Connection Outhouse Toilet Shower Tent and the concept is pretty much the same for the single. You can check it out here.
How long does it take to setup and are there many pieces?
G'day Kim,
There aren't too many pieces to the Outdoor Connection Outhouse Toilet Shower Tent and most find the setup process relatively straightforward. I'd say that set up would take around 5-10 minutes once you have the hang of what you need to do.
every shower tent we have had before has had pathetic zips which have not lasted.
I did a bit of a comparison for you, Liz, the zips on these do feel a little sturdier than some of the lighter weight shower tents.
I guess the best feedback we can give you is that we have not had much, if any, negative feedback of any sort on these shelters or any of the Outdoor Connection shelters to that matter. If you're looking for the most reliable shower and toilet tent in our range, then the Outhouse by Outdoor Connection would be my recommendation.
This seems the more expensive in the shower tent range. Would you say it beats the others? I've never had one before, and for the sake of $20 here or there, would prefer to buy the best model available.
G’day Peter, the Outdoor Connection Outhouse Toilet Shower Tent is one of top models in our range in terms of quality and durability. The reason it’s priced higher is because it has a pole structure which makes it more durable in the wind. Other entry level models have a pop up structure which makes them really easy to erect, but a little less sturdy in the wind. The Outdoor Connection also has great features like a plastic covered toilet roll holder and area to keep your clothes dry which make it really user friendly, so it is a good investment if you’re willing to spend a little bit more.
I bought but have not used an outdoor shower stand. Are these shower tents OK to use this inside?
Hi Peter, if you already have a shower stand then you’ll be able to use it inside this tent provided that it fits inside. This tent has a maximum height of 2.1m, so just compare that height against your shower stand to see if it’ll be the right fit for you.
Where we camp there are often flies which are attracted even when using a composting soil style of toilet. Does this product adequately exclude flies?
Hi Bernie, the Outdoor Connection Outhouse Toilet Shower Tent is made from Polyethylene, which is a fairly solid material, and the door zips up completely so there are no gaps there. Like most shower/toilet tents, the floor is not completely attached to the walls to let the water seep out into the ground – so if this gap is propped open there may be enough room for a fly to come in, but that is an unlikely scenario. Basically this tent is reasonably well sealed, but not completely insect proof. Unfortunately flies will always be attracted to toilets, so you just have to do your best to keep at bay.
I need to know if the tent gas ac acces point to put a shower through. Also what height is the access. Can you hang solar shower in tent as an alternative. Is the roof removable
Hi, i was just wondering if this particular shower tent is one of those silly pop up things
