G'day Paul,
At 6mm they are a good strong rope but how well it holds up in strong wind depends upon the tension you've created and how securely it's been attached. It's not the sort of rope that's going to unravel or split on you anytime soon :) If the wind does pick up, we always recommend doubling up on your guy ropes so instead of using one on your poles, having 2 ropes pegged out either side of each pole gives that extra support needed when the breeze does pick up.
