Ideal for the lone hiker who’s just starting out, the Nevis 100 1P Tent offers an excellent balance between weight, size and features for the price.
The Nevis features a tunnel design to give you good performance in the wind. It’s got an external frame which allows for the inner and fly to be pitched together or pitch the fly first and attach the inner after. For reliable protection, there’s a breathable yet solid polyester inner, a durable 6000mm rated floor, and a 70D Protex 3000mm rated fly to keep out the elements. The alloy poles combined with Vango's Tension Band System offer a light yet durable structure, while the factory taped seams on the fly and groundsheet create a watertight seal.
There are three mesh panels on the inner tent for ventilation in the sleeping area while the storm covered vents on the ends of the flysheet allow for airflow to the outside. The top of the vestibule zipper is protected by a storm flap to minimise water dripping too far into your storage space, and the O-shaped doors are easily opened with one hand. You can also keep essentials close while you sleep as there’s an interior divided storage pocket for organisation.
Vango has made the tent bag with an oversized opening and compression straps so it’s easy to pack away compactly. Relatively light and easy to pitch - the Nevis 100 1P Tent from Vango provides reliable shelter for one for beginners on a budget.
Hi, my pack has a side pocket for tent poles. Can you please let me know what length the pole sections are. Thanks.
G'day Jason,
The length of a packed hiking tent is generally limited by the length of the collapsed poles.
In the case on the Nevis 100 the packed length is 46cm, which means the poles will be around this length, minus a 1-2 cm for the actual packing.
Hope that helps!
The picture states max weight 1.49 but the specs say weight is 1.7 and min weight 1.49? Could you please clarify
G'day Amanda,
Great question! I've clarified with Vango and the maximum weight is 1.7kg which includes everything that the package comes with. 1.49kg refers to the trail weight which is travelling with the bare minimum needed to set the tent up eg tent body, fly and poles.
Hello, can this tent be set up as inner only for those hotter nights?
G'day Tim,
The Nevis 100 has been designed so you can set it up with fly and inner, or fly only, but not inner only, unfortunately. As it is a 3-4 season tent, you might be better off looking at a tent with more internal mesh if you're regularly setting up in warmer climates.
Looking for a new fly to go over my bivy.
G'day Karen,
Generally, we're not able to just got a replacement fly for tents, but it possible that we could source one through the supplier. Vango doesn't list the weight of just the fly anywhere in their specifications, unfortunately. It might be best to stick to a generic fly or try to source the specific fly for your specific bivvy.
Hello! Will a Regular sized S2S Ultralight mat fit with space around the edges? I'm worried about getting condensation on me.
G'day Nick,
The Vango Nevis 100 is no longer available with Snowys, so I can't test it out for you to be sure, but based on the specifications I'd say you should be fine. Also, as the Nevis is a double skinned tent, the instance of condensation will be less that other single skinned options, however due to its minimal ventilation and we wouldn't recommend it for use as a general hiking tent. Whilst it is a 3 season tent, it is designed to best suit very cold & wet conditions.
As in question is it fairly stable without the tension strap. Not a fan of that feature. I am 1.93 so will I fit. You have the 200 set up but not on the floor so if I come in on a weekday can I get it set on the floor for me to try? Want a tent a lot lighter than my current one but struggling to find something under 1.8kg that my height isn't an issue.
G'day Ben,
The Vango Nevis 100 is not a free standing tent, so requires the tension strap, and to be pegged out for use. Unfortunately this makes it really tricky to set up on the shop floor, but the Nevis 200 is up and tied out to the mesh rack for you to check out. The inner tent of the Nevis 100 is 215cm long and 95cm wide at its widest point. For more information checkout our Snowys Nevis 200 videos, they'll give you and idea of how the tent is put up and some of its features. What is the weight of just the Fly and Poles?
G'day Grant,
I've just tried this out for you and the weight of the fly and poles for the Nevis 100 is 928g.
Does the inner door have a fly mesh? Looking for something with a bit of ventilation.
G'day Oz,
Great question, I've just gone and had a look for you as our shipment just arrived yesterday afternoon. They have a very small mesh panel right in the top of the door to aid with ventilation.
