Keep your gear clean and dry when it’s strapped to your roof racks with the water-resistant Nero 240 Gear Bag from Darche.
The Nero is made from tough waterproof 500D PVC, and the seams of this bag are fully welded for protection. Just put your stuff in – pillow, clothes, sleeping bags, or other gear and it’s ready for the road. The multiple padded side handles make it easy to carry, while the compression straps with D rings make it easy to secure.
The Nero 240 also fits Darche swags up to 1400mm wide without any dramas or any other outdoor gear that needs to stay clean - so it’s perfect for storing your equipment for your next adventure.

What is the circumference of the bag? Is it measured to be 50cm height when it is unrolled with the top flap raised upwards loosely. Or once the top flap is rolled up tightly to form a circular shape does it measure out to be 50cm in height.
G'day Rem,
The dimensions are with the bag in use - its 50cm in diameter when in-use and closed.
Hope that helps.
Since the Bandit 1400 bag is only shower proof ... will this bag take the Bandit 1400 (in/out of its bag) ? ... will be on the roof racks for a 6 week trip and don't fancy a wet bed. Thanks !
G'day Kevin,
Darche has advised that the Nero 240 fits all Darche 1400 swags. The pack size of the Bandit 1400 is inline with that, so whilst we haven't physically tried it out, all signs point to it being a perfect combo.
G'day, I am trying to find a waterproof bag for the RS1 that sits on my roof racks. I see the dimensions for the RS1 is slightly longer than the Nero 240 but, I was wondering whether it might still fit as the RS1 would not fill out the volume of the Nero. Any thoughts suggestions ? TiA. Des
G'day Des,
That theory usually works with width & depth, but not length. If the length of a bag is too short, it won't fit regardless of how narrow it may be.
In terms of a waterproof bag option, I actually haven't come across anything that would do the trick. The RS1 from memory is quite wide & flat, but long. All the waterproof swag bags and things we range are too small.
Oztrail used to do something called a Swag Sac, it was white & waterproof. I'm pretty sure its discontinued, but you may be able to find a shop that still has it. You'd be wanting the double size, and I'm pretty sure it also had tie-down webbing on the sides.
If you can get your hands on one, it may be your solution.
Would it be ok to permanently store our swag in this bag? Or does it need to be in a bag that allows the fabric to “breathe”?
G'day Georgie,
As long as your swag is dry when you pack it away, you shouldn't have any issues storing it permanently in a Nero Bag.
Hope that helps!
Hi guys, will this bag fit a 23zero duke 1400 swag?
G'day Zane,
We've not physically tried it ourselves, but the packed size of the Duke 1400 is the same as a range of other 1400 sized swags that we know will fit in the Nero 240 bag. Based on this info we're pretty confident that you shouldn't have any issues using this as a swag bag.
Will the Nero 240 be big enough for a darche double swag air-volution 1400?
G'day Christian,
Darche has advised that the Nero 240 fits all Darche 1400 swags, so whilst we haven't actually tried it in person it should by all reports fit!
Will this bag fit a Darche Calibre 1400 swag with sleeping bags inside
G'day Rhys,
We're not able to give this a try as the Calibre is now a discontinued model. Based on the dimensions it should fit the swag, but it might be a bit of a wrestle to get it in, due to the shape of the roll-top neck of the bag. You're welcome to bring your swag into store at Keswick and give it a try if you'd like.
Hey guys, I know this will be difficult to answer but trying to determine whether the 240 or 190 will be most suitable for me. I'm aiming to mount this to my roof tray so hoping to keep this to 25kg max. In this bag I hope to store our luggage, think large Country road sized duffel bags. Id imagine that with 5 bags going into this, I'll be right on the 25kg weight goal I'm aiming to stay under. Based on physical size, is this bag overkill to fit 5 duffel bags in?
G'day Colin,
I can't say I'm overly familiar with the exact size of the Country Road Duffles, but I'd say they're around 50-60cm long, so you'll likely fit about three of these in the Nero 240. In terms of weight, I guess that depends on what you pack, but I'd say each bag would be somewhere around the 5-10kg mark with some clothing and a pair of shoes. I'm not sure how hopefully this response is, but hopefully it gives you something to work from.
I am looking to purchase 2 of these 240L bags but wondering would this fit the coleman 10p northstar tent and in a seperate bag would it fit pillow, air mattress, clothes and sleeping bags?
G'day Elizabeth,
Unfortunately, it isn't something we've ever tried, but we think based on dimensions that it should fit. It might be a little tricky to get the Northstar 10P into the Nero 240 bag, but once it is in, it should be ok.
Wondering if a Black Wolf Turbo Plus 300 Tent would fit in this bag once it has been packed away in its original bag?
G'day Matt,
It's not something we've tried, unfortunately, but based purely on dimensions it should be theoretically possible, but I'd probably pack the tent straight into the Nero 240 Bag, rather than into the Black Wolf Bag first.
Is this the biggest bag available? Our swag is huge and want dry bag for it. We are running with a Kings Big Daddy Deluxe Swag 1600 wide
G'day Mary,
The Nero 240 is the largest of the Darche Nero Bag range. Unfortunately, based on your swags size it won't fit in this bag. The bag is 145cm long, and I assume your swag is somewhere around the 160-170cm length when it's rolled up. The only bag I can think of that might be long enough would be the Jolly Swagman Swag Bag - Wide Double, it's a canvas bag so not specifically a dry bag, but it will offer some protection from dust and showers.
