Could you also use this to inflate a tent?
G'day Ryan,
No, you can't. Inflatable tents will need a pump with my higher PSI capability, they'll usually be an air compressor style.
Can this inflate the Zempire ProTL tent?
G'day Allan,
No, this pump is specifically designed for self-inflating mats, and airbeds. It is not designed for inflating air tents. If you're looking for a powered pump for your Zempire Pro TL tent, we'd recommend the Supercell Pump.
When the monstapump is in storage for a length of time, does it need to be regularly changed or just charged before needed.
G'day Barbara,
Zempire recommends charging the pump at least every two months. They also state that the pump should be fully charged and discharged 3 times before the first use to activate the batteries.
Hi, will this pump fit the connections on this Quest mattress?
G'day Bill,
Yes you can inflate/deflate a the Quest Outdoors DreamLux 15 Queen Size Self Inflating Mat with this pump, the fittings may not be an exact fit but this will still be able to hold it over the valve and either inflate or deflate the mattress.
Will these work with the new Quest inflatable sofa’s? Do the fittings match?
G'day David,
Yes, there are a range of fittings that come with the Monstapump, and there is one that will work with the Quest Sofa.
Would this pump have the fittings to be able to deflate a Darche Kozi double self inflating mattress
G'day Tom,
The valve size of the Monstamat and Kozi is a fairly universal size for self inflating mats, so whilst the thread may not be compatible to screw the fitting in, it will line up to the hole perfectly.
Would this be suitable to inflate / deflate a exped megamat duo?
G'day Rhys,
Yes you can inflate/deflate an Exped MegaMat Duo with this pump, the fittings may not be an exact fit but this will still be able to hold over the valve and either inflate or deflate the mattress.
Can you use the monstapump to deflate a self inflating mattress such as the monstamat without damaging the mattress? Would like to be able to deflate the mattress while it’s in the swag and roll it all up when moving camp. I understand the mattress would have to come out for long term storage.
G'day Michael,
Yes you can use this Monstapump to deflate a self-inflating mattress without damaging it. Just be careful to not overdo it, the pump will probably change tone once it's at its limit and the mattress won't shrink much more. Deflating a mattress to roll up in your swag when you're on the go wouldn't be an issue, and you would be correct in storing it out of the swag for the long term.
If you are using the Monstapump to deflate and leaving the mattress stored for a while the foam cells will be more compressed, it's good to either leave a little more air in there or inflate it every couple of months to keep the foam in good shape.
