How long do you have to leave the mattress out for it to fully expand.
G'day Angus,
The Mitchell swag mattress is a piece of 5cm foam so realistically once you unwrap it from its brand new compressed state it will expand pretty quickly. I'd say you would want to roll out the swag mattress for a day before taking it on a trip. Test it out, if you feel like it could be better give it a little longer, or place it in a warm room of the house.
Hi there. I want to get a protective ground cover to use under my new Mitchell double swag. What would you recommend? I am not sure how it would work if you had to peg down your swag on top of a tarp. Does this mean that over time your tarp would be riddled with peg holes?
G'day Paul,
You've got a few ways you could go here. You could look at a classic tarp like the Kookaburra Heavy Duty Tarp and fold it so it fits completely under your swag. This will prevent water from pooling on the tarp under the swag and it'll prevent you from needing to peg it down. The second option would be to use an Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp and use it to protect your swag base but also create a bit of ground cover around the swag. This will result with holes in the mesh tarp but you can have a read of our blog here on ways you can prevent this from becoming an issue.
Hi there. I have just bought this swag. Is the product number (CSW-MIED-F) the latest for this swag as a friend has told me there are a few updates to this swag and to ensure I am not caught out with an older model when purchasing.
G'day Paul,
Yeah mate, all the stock we have is product number CSW-MIED-F. The number was the same for 2017/18 as it is for 2018/19 series swags and as far as the new catalogue tells me they've made no changes this year. Last year they did add eyelets to allow the use of a ridgepole but that's the only update we know of. You're welcome to pop back in with the swag and we'll double check it's the latest model if you like.
I was just wondering if this swap is waterproof. My son is after one for Christmas and I am afraid I do not know much about them
G'day Shay,
It sure it is waterproof. But make sure your son reads our guide to seasoning your swag here before he heads out in the weather with it.
