The Minipresso NS is just designed to take Nespresso compatible pods. If you're after an option that can do both then it would be worth looking at the Nanopresso which takes ground coffee, then pairing it with a pod adapter kit.

The Minipresso NS Espresso machine is designed for use with the Nespresso capsules, so as long as the hot chocolate pods you want to use are compatible to use in a Nespresso machine then it should be fine.

I've just double checked and the Minipresso NS Espresso Machine comes with a small lightweight carry case that has a drawcord on the top. The Nanopresso Espresso model comes in a zip up carry case.
