Is this 'newer' LED technology where blue light band is reduced to lowerl levels?1 answer
i.e. some say newer LED technology is safer for eyes. See https://www.quora.com/Is-indirect-LED-light-harmful-to-the-eyes for further detail.

Hi Bev,
That's an interesting article.
The particular led lantern you've asked about has a nice warm yellow colour. Most LED torches with a high Lumens output which can hurt the eyes have a laser warning on them when sold.
This can be seen on the Led Lenser torches and some other brands where the LED chip is outputting so many lumens from such a small source.
It is not so much of a worry on lanterns as the lumens output is distributed over a larger surface area.
If you need more detailed information than that provided, we'd need to do a bit more research and get back to you.
Just let us know.
