Where does the Hydration pack sit inside the backpack?

G'day Chris,
In the main section of the Black Wolf McKinley, there's a pouch along the back of the bag that you slide your hydration bladder into. Keep in mind that if you're using a Black Wolf bladder that the 2L will fit but the 3L won't.

We know for sure that you can use the Black Wolf McKinley Rucksack with a 3L Black Wolf Bladder or 3L Camelbak Bladder as those are the ones we've tried for ourselves in store. It's likely other brands will fit as well, but those are the ones we know are going to be compatible.Â

Update 8/6/19: the design of the newer model Black Wolf bladders means that only the 2L size will physically fit inside the hydration pouch on the McKinley 75L. You could fit the 3L version inside the pack, however it would need to just be slotted into the back of the pack.

Many backpacks come with different harness sizes and make a specific fit. How does this pack adjust for different sized people? I'm looking for a pack for a teenage girl who will be hiking four times in a year for a week at a time in varying environments including alpine. I want to know she'll be comfortable as well as sticking to a pretty tight budget!

The McKinley pack has a unique sliding harness that is really easy to adjust to different back lengths. There are 3 McKinley sizes: 55, 65 & 75 Litres. It is important to choose a size of pack that is relative to the size of the person wearing it. A 75L pack that is full of gear may be too large for a person with a small frame. I think the McKinley is a great choice for your requirements Tahti, but I recommend you give us a call to discuss fitment and size choice. We will need information such as the height and weight of the person who will be wearing the pack and we can also run through the basic steps of adjusting your pack to fit correctly.
