An easy to pitch tent for four, Malamoo Cicara 3.0 is the same model we’re all familiar with, but with a different name. You won’t waste any time on your getaways as this tent will completely change the way you camp!
It's feature point is the all-in-one design which allows you to pitch the fly and inner together in just a few seconds and then pack it away almost as quickly. The Cicara now has updated white fibreglass resin poles for strength, while the dual skin construction features a waterproof fly over a mesh inner with a set-back interior double door that creates an enclosed front vestibule. You’ll also have plenty of ventilation thanks to the two side and one rear window, and the closeable front vents.
The Malamoo Cicara 3.0 will make setting up camp for a small group or family super easy on your next adventure.
Hi, we've just come back from a camping trip (Malamoo tent was great) but we have a 5-10cm rip in the inner wall. What would you recommend to fix it?
Annette - Mount Kuring-gai(4 years ago)
G'day Annette,
We'd recommend K-Tape, it's made from a ripstop material with a sticky backing, and is available in a range of colours.

Front door on updated Malamoo Cicara 3.0 4P Tent 1 answer
Is the front door for this fully zipped? I noticed in the videos that there are zips at the sides of the front door, but cannot see the zip at the bottom of the front door.
Eileen - Perth(4 years ago)
G'day Ellen,
The Cicara 3.0 4P Tent just has side zippers and velcro on the front door. The base of the door overlaps the fabric on the tent body, and the side zippers provide enough tension on the fabric that you won't need to worry about any moisture creeping in there. There is a secondary D-shaped internal door to ensure your sleeping area is insect free.

Front flap and ground water issue1 answer
Hi there - we have the original Malamoo great tent for couple for <1week away and great for boat based camping... but in the wet - the front vestibule where you store your clothes / food / gear was NEVER water proof... The ground water would leak and pool in here as the perimeter of the floor is mesh, and then the bottom edge of the flap was not sealable, so wind would blow in, and direct water / rain run off into the vestibule and flood it.. Please tell me they have fixed this issue, and made the bottom of the vestibule flap zipper or at least velcrow closable to keep water shedding off outside, and the mesh perimeter gone? If so - we might refresh ours with a newy. Thanks, Brad.
Brad - Brisbane(6 years ago)
G'day Brad,
The new version of the Malamoo Cicara 3.0 Tent has a solid inner material in the front vestibule, so we're pretty confident your gear will keep dry in that front vestibule. There are some velcro tabs down along the side that will help secure the external flap.

ian - 2539(6 years ago)
Yes, the pole problem has been solved. Oztent has produced a new batch of the Cicara 3.0 Tents which have white poles. All of our stock is the latest version, they've been in the market for a few months now and we haven't had any further problems.

Low slung stretcher bed base.1 answer
I am looking at buying either a 3 or 4 man Malamoo, Being a keen camper but an old camper, I would like to know if there is a low slung stretcher bed on the market. , that will give just a little height of the floor but not as high as the usual stretcher beds.
Noel - Bathurst(6 years ago)
G'day Noel,
Most of our stretchers are going to sit at or above 40cm off the ground. We could look at chasing up something like the Roman Wire Leg Stretcher for you. These sit at around 30cm off the ground but keep in mind you'd be sacrificing some strength and they will be a bit fiddlier to set up than the classic 'easy fold' camp stretchers. If you'd like us to look into a price and availability just send us an email at service@snowys.com.au.

Have there been any further problems since July.1 answer
Oztent has re-released the Cicara 3.0! They've redesigned the pole system - which was causing all those issues back in July. As of today, all new stock has a white poles.
Noel - Bathurst(6 years ago)
G'day Noel,
I don't think we've seen any issues since the re-released version became available. Oztent obviously identified the problem and have installed much more suitable poles in the newer model.

Quality still an issue?1 answer
Hey guys. You said you were pulling this tent from your range due to quality issues. Given you're still not stocking it, I assume Oztent didn't satisfy you that this was just a bad batch?
Dave - Clifton Hill(6 years ago)
G'day Dave,
I'm assuming you found the listing for this product via a Google search? If you use the search function on our website you'll see they're no longer on our site and at the moment, we're unable to get our hands on any more of these until the quality issue is resolved with Oztent. Sorry!
UPDATE:
G'day everyone, just letting you all know that the quality issue with the poles in this tent has now been completely resolved by Oztent. We're now stocking the updated model of Malamoo Cicara 3.0 tent which features the improved white fibreglass resin poles.

Bit confused. Does this new model have the option of the front flap extending out as an awning with two poles? 5 answers
In the setup video it shows the mega with two "straight" zips to accompany the awning but the photos are showing a "rounded" zip arrangement? Even in the product description it mentions an awning and polls?
John - Broken Hill, NSW(6 years ago)
G'day John,
I can see where your confusion is coming from! The zips on the Oztent Malamoo Cicara 3.0 4P tent are as you see them on the video, with the straight zippers that allow you to use the awing setup with the included poles. I'll have to see if we have an updated image to clear this up a bit, thanks for pointing this out!
Tim - Snowys(6 years ago)
Hi Tim
Are you sure regarding the "straight zips" and annex and poles. I've been on other sites and they all show the "rounded" zip indicating to me that it wouldn't have an annex. Thanks again
John - Broken Hill, NSW(6 years ago)
G'day John,
You make a good point, I think I mistakenly thought the tent in the video is the newer 'Cicara' model but it's not. I'm going to follow this one up on Monday for you and try to get word from Oztent themselves to clear this up.
Tim - Snowys(6 years ago)
G'day John,
Ok, after speaking with Oztent directly it appears your initial suspicions are correct and the newer Cicara model has gone back to having the rounded zipper on the vestibule door. So it will no longer work as an awning for the front entrance to the tent. We'll be changing our description and video to reflect this asap. Thanks for pointing this out for us mate!
Tim - Snowys(6 years ago)
G'day Andrew,
I've had a chat with Oztent over the phone, they were confident that other than a small amount of condensation, you shouldn't have any issues with moisture in the vestibule. They also confirmed that there's not a strap to hang a light on.

What size ground sheet?1 answer
What size ground sheet do you need with this tent?
Andy - Dubbo(7 years ago)
G'day Andy,
For your Oztent Malamoo Cicara 3.0 4P Tent, I'd suggest a 12 x 12 ft Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp.
