Staff tip:The Malamoo 2 is a similar size to a hiking tent so we'd suggest opting for the hiking mats rather than the bigger airbed options.
Is there a way to pack this tent smaller ?1 answer
I need a tent like this but the circular shape diameter when packed is too big !
Gary - Kingsley (8 years ago)
G'day Gary,
Unfortunately, due to the design of the Oztent Malamoo tent, there is no way to pack it down smaller without damaging the poles.

Packing Up -12 year old1 answer
Could a 12 year old pack up this type of tent? What brand is the easiest for a child or small adult to fold away?
Keira - Melbourne(8 years ago)
G'day Keira,
While the Malamoo 2P Pop Up Tent is very easy to set up, it may be a challenge to pack down for a child. I'd recommend having a watch of this video, which shows how this tent packs down (the model in the demo is the larger version but it has the same configuration) and going from there.
A dome tent is going to be a little more complicated re: set up, but a model like the Companion Pro Hiker 2 might be worth considering as it isn't an overly complicated tent - you can have a squiz at the instructions here which will give you an idea of how the tent comes together to compare it to the Malamoo.

Using with oztrail King single 4wd mat 1 answer
The oztrail King single 4wd mat is 195x80 . Will it fit inside the 2 person malamoo?
Dennis - HOPPERS CROSSING, VIC(8 years ago)
Hi Dennis, the inside length of this tent is 233cm, and the width is 145cm so you can fit 1 Oztrail King Single mattress in the Malamoo 2P Pop Up Tent from Oztent with room to spare. We’ve also written a guide on what sleeping mats will fit our range of pop up tents, which may be helpful which you can read here: http://www.snowys.com.au/blog/which-sleeping-mats-will-fit-in-my-pop-up-tent/

What would the dimensions for a mattress to fit inside this tent need to be?1 answer
I can get a foam mattress cut from Clarke rubber and would just like to know the dimensions including the curved ends if possible.
Thanks
Matt - Brisbane (9 years ago)
G'day Matt - Great question, because this tent now has a floorplan showing the internal dimensions. Next to the main picture above, look to the left and click on the last thumbnail. Here they are anyway: 145W x 233L cm. If you need me to measure for you to take into account those corners, let me know. Cheers, Paul

Height at peak.2 answers
I'm 90cm tall when I sit up and want some extra space on top of my head. Would I sit up comfortably inside this tent at its tall side?
Antae - Avondale Heights(9 years ago)
G'day Antae - The internal height on the Malamoo 2P is 100cm. (Actually just measured and sat in one.) It will depend on your mattress as to how much headroom you'll have. If you have a Megamat, for example, that'll take up approximately 10cm of the height, so you probably will be rubbing your head sitting up. Whereas if you have a very thin hiking style mat, you'll enjoy a little more head space. I'm 5'10" and, sitting directly on the floor of the tent, had a bit of room above me. Hope that helps. Cheers, Paul

Thanks Paul, very helpful.

Camp Mat1 answer
Hi, was just wondering if a camp mat would work with this tent?
Dimensions are 195 x 150 x 12.
Thanks.
Bec - Noble Park(9 years ago)
Thanks for asking Bec. Unfortunately your mat is too big for this tent. When you look at the dimensions, it does appear that the mat would fit, but once you take into account the rounding of the corners you lose quite a bit of room - no double mat would fit in the Malamoo 2. You would need to get the Malamoo 3 to fit your mat, and even then it would be a tight fit - you may find that the corners will just touch the sides of the tent. Keep in mind that you've also got the vestibule area to store your gear in the Malamoo 3.
