This tent can be split into two rooms so you can use the space more efficiently or you can leave it as one thanks to the internal wall. Set up is a breeze each day as this tent uses OZtrail’s integrated Fast Frame and has a 150D fly for protection from the elements with a Nite room coating that helps to block out light so for better sleep-ins and to reduce heat build-up. The Lodge 450 Tourer also has integrated LED lights with low, medium and high settings that can be powered with 4 x D cell batteries or USB powerbank, which are both available separately.
It’s finished off with a generously sized awning for extra shade and living space and has a 150D PVC coated polyester floor to keep you dry. Camp out every night while you’re on tour in the easy to pitch Lodge 450 Tourer LED Tent from OZtrail.
Hi again. Could you please also let me know whether the fly window coverings can be secured open in the rain, or whether they have just two settings (fully open and fully closed). Thank you!
G'day Liz,
The windows on the Lodge 450 can either be fully opened or filly closed, they don't have a built-in gusset if that's what you're meaning?
Hi. Could you please let me know if the inner room divider is attached to th floor (zippered) or unattached more like a curtain (as in the Black Wolf Turbo 450). Thanks very much.
G'day Liz,
Unfortunately we don't currently have a display model for this model to double-check, however as far as we know it has a zippered room divider.
Hi, can you set up the tent without the awning extended so as to fit on a narrower camp site at a caravan park? Or is the awning a part of the overall fly and you must set up the 3 poles and extend it for the fly to work properly? Cheers
G'day Christopher,
The front awning of the Lodge 450 Tourer LED does need to be set up in full to ensure that the tent is correctly set up and the fly under the correct tension. You might need to consider a different tent, or a slightly larger size if it's going to fit at the campsite you're heading to.
hi, how many awning poles are included by manufacturer ? Also can you please confirm fly sheet is included ?
G'day A D,
The 450 Lodge comes with three front awning poles, and yes I can confirm the flysheet is included with the tent.
Hello! Looking between this one and the Coleman Northstar lighted - I much prefer the price and shape of this tent, but notice both reviews suggest it isnt great in the wind. Is the pole quality very different between this one and the Coleman, and would the issues be resolved if the tent was pegged out properly?
G'day Kath,
We'd recommend ensuring any tent is well pegged out and secured in any weather, just in case there are variable conditions. However saying that, we have had a few reviews from customers that they don't go so well in windy conditions, even when pegged out. The poles on the Coleman do feel a little more robust, and it does have great reviews, so it might be a better option in the long run.
Hi, is the ceiling on the inner fly polyester that can unzip to mesh for ventilation or is it only mesh? I’m just wondering, if it’s mesh only will be too cold to camp in winter? Thanks
G'day Manda,
The ceiling of the Lodge 450 has a dual-layer design so you can have the mesh shut to keep warm, or open to help with ventilation.
Hi, do the front walls (looking out to the annexe) have the twilight technology on them? Or is it only on the outer fly? EG-will all four walls be dark with twilight technology when closed & does the roof of the inner fly have mesh panels or is it solid? If it does have mesh panels are they able to be zipped close or are they always open like the Tourer 450 tents? Thank you
G'day Manda,
The light-blocking technology is on the tent body itself so the whole tent will be dark when zipped shut. There are dual-layer windows and roof vents to allow ventilation and light in as required.
Can you get side walls and front in the matching colour?
G'day Corey,
The side and front walls for the Fast Frame/ Lodge tents are just available in the beige colour at this stage.
Do the windows have zippered privacy screens on the inside as well as zippered covers on outside with mesh in between
G'day Lou,
The Oztrail Lodge 450 Tourer LED Fast Frame Tent essentially has double layered window sections both with fixed mesh pannels.
On the tent inner you have a solid window flap than can be zipped from the inside. The tent fly also has a mesh window pannel which you can zip the solid panel closed from the outside.
Hope that makes sense.
HI, Do the Front & Side walls available for the Fast Frame Tourer 450 fit onto this model ok? or are there specific parts available for this?
G'day Grant,
Yes the front and side walls for the Fast Frame 450 have been designed to fit this model.
Hi, this tent require 4xD size batteries for the cabin light. are there any mains power adaptor or rechargeable battery pack that allow the light to be run continuously instead of carry out D-size batteries? Thanks
G'day Bao,
The D-Cell battery pack can be removed, and you can use a USB rechargeable battery instead. You could theoretically use a USB to 240V charger block (e.g. a phone charger) and plug that directly in if you have a powered campsite.
Hi, Got the Lodge 450 tourer delivered the other day and we thought we try putting it up before our next trip. it took me just over an hour to fully erect the tent. do you have any video, step by step instruction or any tips that may help speed up the process. Thanks Bao
G'day Bao,
These are a relatively new tent so we don't have a video at this point in time, however, if you follow the instructions each time you set it up it will take you a little less time. Having an extra set of hands to pull the fly over the top will also help.
Hi there. I have been using a Coleman gold series tent but Looking at downsizing. Is this equivalent to a gold series tent or silver? Thanks
G'day Sam,
The Gold/Silver series is limited to Coleman so it's hard to give a direct comparison of series between these two types of tent. The Coleman Gold series tents have a 3000mm waterhead rating, which will outperform the 2000mm waterhead rating on the Oztrail, however the fabric itself on the Oztrail is a little thicker, and offers a 'nite room' coating, so doesn't directly compare to the Gold series Coleman tents, unless you're referring to the Darkroom models. Overall it's tricky to give you a direct answer without all the information, but we'd be happy to help you out if you give us a call or send us an email.
