Is it ok to keep you sleeping bag in a dry sack while hiking and if so which one would suit my large Sea to summit tree line sleeping bag thanks stevo
G'day Stephen,
Your best bet will be to go for the compression dry sack if you want to take your treeline hiking and ensure it will be dry and compressed. The Medium Compression Dry Sack will suit the Treeline.
Are the measurements taken on an open dry bag ie before it is rolled and closed? The dimensions given for a 35l bag are 70cm long. What would the length be once the bag is rolled and sealed?
G'day Ross,
The dimensions we've got on the Sea to Summit Lightweight Dry Sacks is before you've rolled them. As for the length once rolled and sealed, it all depends on how much you roll them down. You could keep rolling until it's less than half if you wanted to, or you could just roll it once or twice.
G'day Ross,
Rolling the bag 3 times, I still had a length of a fraction over 60cm, so you should be pretty safe.
Does this dry sack have an easy carry handle?
I'm guessing 35L for the Tempo 40 and 20L for the Tempo 30?
G'day Simon,
That's spot on, although I find it's sometimes good to get a slightly larger dry bag so that you have extra roll top space for sure fire waterproofing and don't waste any internal capacity once you have it all packed out. So having said this, you could use the 35L in the Tempo 30 happily as you can always just roll out any extra space.
