Load weight1 answer
Is there a load weight for these poles? I am just over 100kgs . . . These have a 10yr warranty but what does this cover please)
Jodi - Burnett Heads, QLD (11 months ago)
G'day Jodi,
Warranty covers any damage that is attributed to a manufacturing fault or quality control issue - it doesn't cover accidental damage or misuse.
Hiking poles don't come with a load rating per because they're not designed to fully bear weight, so their strength exceeds any real life load you may place them under. Their role is largely to help with balance and stabilisation, and helping hikers keep a good cadence and rhythm. Whilst they'll help take the load off your knees on long descents, for example, they do this by assisting with balance and support whilst your body still does the majority of the work. Having said that, good quality aluminium poles are generally assumed to cover 150Kg .
