They're not compatible with other light kits necessarily.  We've had feedback from some people where its worked and others where it hasn't.  I think it depends on the brand.
As we don't sell Drifta, we don't actually know about compatibility there.  You could try contacting Hard Korr or Drifta directly?

The LED Extension will give you the option to split your lines to orange or white bars. After the splitter, you can install the orange/white dimmer on one split, and the white only on another split, if that's what you're looking to do. A good thing to note, is that the end caps for orange bars and accessories are orange, so just use this to work out what can plug and play where in the system.

Without having the correct tools to measure it properly, I've only got a measuring tape, it looks like you might be on the money with your assumption.
