With plenty of space inside, enjoy a refreshing shower change without bolting back to your tent for privacy thanks to the a sewn-in divider for privacy. For privacy while you bask in a well-deserved outdoor shower, check out the handy Coleman Instant Up Double Ensuite Tent.

Hi, could this be used with a single stretcher for sleeping? Unconventional but I'm looking for a narrow tent that's at least 180cm tall Would it be much hotter than a usual tent because of the privacy silver lining? Do you know the width of the internal door opening? Do the external doors have an insect screen layer?
G'day Anna,
Definitely unconventional, although there's no reason why you couldn't.
the shower tent is actually two rooms with a wall in the middle and a D-shaped door, so you wouldn't want a stretcher more than 90cm wide, and it would take up the entire space inside eg. no room for standing.
The doors also dont have mesh, so you'd only be relying on the head height window on each side for air flow.
I'm assuming if you're wanting something atleast 180cm tall, thats because of head height/standing height?
If thats the case, it's a moot point in a tent that you have no room to stand in anyway.
Hope that helps.
Can either side be used as a shower depending on the lay of the land?
G'day David,
Yes, either side can be used as a shower. The hook to hang the shower is in the middle top of the shower tent and there are zips on either side for the cords to go outside, so it all depends on how you set it up.
I am looking for a double en-suite tent to be put at the back of my jayco swan. Can you have an opening at the back wall which would allow access to the cold and hot water controls of the outside shower that’s on our swan.
G'day Corey,
The Coleman double ensuite has two doors, one on each side, offset.
You can set it up either as a single large tent by rolling back the central dividing wall, or you can have two separate chambers with door access on opposing sides.
Hope that helps.
Hi, I have a space to store a shower tent when not in use that's 102 cm long. I note the packed length of this tent is 114 cm. Is that the length of the box it's delivered in or the actual length when collapsed? If the box, what is the actual length? Thanks heaps.
G'day Ian,
These measurements aren't taken from the freight box, they're the actual packed dimensions. The limitation on length is the physical tent frame and how small it collapses, so there's not much that you can shave off the pack size. the frame itself is 112cm long.
Its not going to be suitable for your storage space, I'm sorry.
Does the floor zip out at all or is it sewn in place?
G'day Carly,
The floor in both sections of the Coleman Ensuite tent are stitched in, meaning its not a suitable option for a pit toilet.
As an alternative, it may be worth looking at the Darche version, as this has a fixed floor and a removable floor, which gives you abit more flexibility with how you set up.
Hi, What shower is recommended for this tent? Thanks Leanne
G'day Leanne,
You can use pretty much any shower option you'd like, other than a shower bag with this style of ensuite. Most people will use the gas showers made by Smarttek and Companion, but if you don't mind a cold shower, or have another way to heat your water, then the small 12V Companion Camp Showers are also a good option.
Is the floor one floor separated by a wall and therefore shower water will spread to the change room? Or are they separated at floor level too
G'day Ally,
I think I understand what you mean! There is a full wall between the two separate rooms of the shower tent, as opposed to a divider, so it's fully stitched in.
The shower side has a mesh wall, so there's no real option for water to pool inside the tent itself.
Can you go access both sides internally? Is there a zipper door in the middle?
G'day Jasmin,
Yes, either side is identical but on the opposit ends if that makes sense.
The side you cxan see in the photos is the same as the other side, but each end cubicle has a window one side and door on the other.
You can also zip closed the internal wall to have one as a toilet and one as a shower if needed.
Hope that helps!
Is there a way to access the controls on a gas hot water heater (for example, a zipped opening) from inside the tent while showering?
G'day again TJ,
I'm going backwards on my original answer!
I just went and jumped into the ensuite to take some measurements, and I realised there's a second doorway in the shower room.
You'll be able to place your gas hot water system on this side, and access it through the doorway. The zipper port for the shower hose is on the opposite side, but with the doorway zips you'll be able to make it work.
Hope that helps!
Hey guys, Wondering if the shower hose on the Companion Aquaheat Lithium Gas Shower is long enough to go though the access hole, up the side and mount the rose on the rose holder up top? One of the reviews is saying you'd need at minimum a 3m hose due to the strange rose holder placement, but I just want to confirm this claim before I consider ordering one.
G'day Ryan,
From the shower hose zipper port you've got 2m of hose required to reach the shower head hook, so you'll need to add additional length from the outside of the zipper port to your hot water system.
At approximately 1.3m from the zipper port there is a velcro loop to which you could mount a shower head to if you wanted to, instead of running the hose across the roof aswell.
Hope that helps.
Hi, can you please tell me if the floor is the same on each side? What is on the floor where you don’t shower?
G'day Jo,
The flooring of the Coleman Instant Up Double Ensuite Tent is the same on both sides, comprising of both solid and mesh panels.
You can see an image of this on our product page, currently the 6th photo in the list.
I am assuming the light symbol on the outside means 'dark room tent' do you need lights in there even during the day with all the doors and windows zipped up?
G'day Nyrie,
This ensuite tent doesn't have the 'darkroom' black lining of the tents - the light symbol is Coleman's logo. Instead, it has a silver lining making it very private. I did zip myself inside and it is darkish but not enough to need a light on during the day. The windows zip downwards, which does allow a fair bit of light inside. Each compartment has 1 separate door on each side of the tent.
Is there a hose access point from the outside so I could hang a solar shower on a tree and slip the hose in?
G'day Josh,
There is a hose opening point, however, it is down lower at about knee height, as they're designed for use with gas hot water shower. Unfortunately this one won't quite work with your solar shower.
How does the water from the shower drain away from the tent? Does it flood the area?
G'day Josie,
There are mesh panels around the edges of the flooring the shower side of the Double Ensuite Tent, the water will be able to drain away to the sides and soak into the ground.
HI Do you know how long it takes to put up and take down the ensuite tent Also do you have any video's of putting up and down the ensuite tent Thanks Neil
G'day Neil,
This is a brand new product to us, so its on the list for future videos to do.
It's based on the same principle as their instant up tent range, so it will be a straight forward process.
The tent itself will pop straight up, you'll need to put the fly cap on and peg out the corners and guy ropes.
All in all I reckon a 10min job, which will get faster with practice.
Will the ceiling hook hold a 20Ltr shower bag?
G'day Lance,
We don't have one currently in stock here and on display for me to check against the weight of the bag for you, but 20lt is the average size and weight of shower bags for camping so I'd be confident to say you shouldn't have any issues with it.
The only consideration is the head height, if your shower bag is one of the styles with the Rose directly attached to the bottom and you have to stand under it, it'll sit about 150cm high.
