After hours in the car with a bunch of grumpy and WIFI- deprived vacationers, the last thing you want to do is make them wait while you spend the next hour figuring out how to put up your brand new tent.
With the latest Instant Up Silver 6P tent from Coleman, even the most impatient beginner can get this tent up and running in no time as the frame is connected and pre-attached. All you have to do is lay it down, spread out the fabric and extend the poles out from the hub until it locks into place. Then you can just chuck the waterproof fly over the top, so you can get a good night’s sleep knowing you won’t get soaked in the rain.
The interior is spacious, with enough floor space to fit in 2
The photos show a different colour scheme to the Instant Up “Silver” shown in the videos and other suppliers. Is this the silver version or does it come in the colour shown in the photos?
G'day Jonathon,
Yes, this the Instant Up 6P tent, which is also known as the Instant Up Silver range.
I would like that tent in a 4 person size how much are they? Thx Belinda
Sure can, Belinda, check it out here - https://www.snowys.com.au/instant-up-4p-tent-new.
Having trouble deciding between zempire jetset 5 and Coleman instant up 6
G'day Mike,
Unfortunately probably not going to help much with my answer here, but it's going to be much of a muchness in terms of time and ease for set up. The Instant Up series do have the quick and easy frame, but by the time you factor in the fly and pegging out, etc its around the same as the all in one pumping up with the Jetset. I've also had a chat to Ben who's had a play with them both for our video series and he's agreed that there's really not much in it.
Hi. Do you have the door dimensions on this tent? I want to make sure I can fit the inflated bed through the door in the event I am at an unpowered site and have to inflate it outside the tent.
G'day Tracy,
I've just checked with our Instant Up Gold 6P display model (Silver should be the same design) and the door is approx 135cm wide and 155cm high. Hope that helps.
During extended strong winds a knuckle broke on my Coleman Instant Up 6P tent. Do you stock these items?
G'day Richie,
We will generally either have these in stock, or be able to get our hands on them, but they are model specific as they include the phone leg piece from the foot to the hub. If you can send us an email with the exact model you have (Instant Up 6P, Gold 6P or Darkroom Gold 6PV) then we can check our spare parts area and let you know what we've got available and the pricing information.
Just returned from a camping trip where son/wife and their two kids aged 4 and 6 spent the 3 days of windy conditions in a woefully inadequate tent. It is hard to put up, almost impossible in any wind and partially fell down anyway, and it leaks - at least it didn't rain. This Coleman instant Up 6P tent looks ok but I don't think has an internal partition? Do you have something of similar size with a partition (preferably on special :) ) that is an "easy up" tent? I can go a bit more $$ if it helps to get the right tent but we only camp for a sailing weekend (3 days) twice a year down in northern NSW on the Clarence River. The grand-kids had their own 2 man tent but in the wind were too scared to use it. I have my own tent which is great (Twister 3 - a real challenge to get back in the bag but a cinch to put up) . Thanks for any advice.
G'day George,
The Instant Up 6P tent doesn't have an internal partition however the Instant Up 8P tent does have an internal partition so that could be a suitable model. I would probably suggest checking out the Instant Up Gold 8P as they are made from a slightly more robust material with some other handy features. Maybe give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 if you wanted to chat through some specific advisc for your situation.
Could you please tell me the size of the tent in square meters please as I’m going camping and the site I’m camping at has a size limit thank you
G'day Jessie,
I've just drawn a bit of a diagram and calculated the size of this tent. The total size of the tent including the front awning is approximately 13.5 square metres. The last image on our site shows the total length and width in case the campground lists site sizes rather than square meterage.
What size (length and diameter) are the tent pegs that come with it? And how many?
G'day Mal,
The tent comes with fairly lightweight pegs measuring 180mm long and about 3.5mm in width. It comes with about 14pegs. Our suggestion is to use these in combination with heavier duty steel pegs to make sure your tent is firmly anchored to the ground in the event of strong winds. Check out the Supa Peg or the Darche 6 pack as an option.
Hi there - will this size tent accommodate 2 Oztrail jumbo single stretchers? Would the 4 person size also accommodate them?
G'day Susan,
We've just had a look and two Oztrail Jumbo Stretchers will fit in the Instant Up 6P. They should just fit in the Instant Up 4P but it will be a squeezy fit with the taper of the tent wall.
Just wondering as I have a friend who purchased one and the poles and pegs were included .. cheers
Two awning poles are included, Michele. We overlooked this detail in our product description sorry.
Are the poles for the awning included or will I have to purchase these separately?
G'day Guy,
The awning poles are only included in the Gold series Instant Up tents sorry. Have a read about all the differences between the Silver and Gold Instant Up tents on our blog here.
Just wondering if this tent is able to be set up by one person?
G'day Amy,
The Coleman Instant Up series of tents are reasonably easy for one person to pitch on their own, but this might depend on how much experience you have with tents. We don't have a video of this specific model but click here to watch our staff member Ben pitching the Darkroom version of this model on his own. Hopefully, this gives you a good idea of what's involved but if you have any more questions just let us know.
Hi, could you please tell me the dimensions once it’s packed in the carry bag? Essentially the dimensions of the carry bag once packed. Just wanna make sure it fits my rooftop cargo bag. Thanks
G'day Rav,
When packed down, in the bag, the Coleman Instant Up 6P Tent is 134L x 24W x 24H cm.
I am thinking of attaching a shade cloth to this section of the tent and would appreciate your advice
G'day Steve,
Armed with my trusty tape measure, I've just sussed out the Coleman Instant Up 6P Tent that we've got set up on the shop floor. The awning area is about 1.5 x 2.1m.
Is this suitable autumn or winter whether condition ?
G'day Gary,
You sure could use the Instant Up 6 in autumn or winter, although you might want to consider the Instant Up Gold 6 - as this tent has a higher waterhead rating of 3000mm compared to 1500 for the standard Instant Up - so it might be a better option if you are planning on camping in areas that get a bit more rain.
what size tarp would you use underneath as a protector?
G'day Col,
A popular tarp that we recommend for general use is the Ultramesh Tarp from Oztrail, for the Instant UP 6 there are two size options depending on how you want to set up your tent.
If you want the tarp to just cover the underside of your Instant Up, then the 3.65 x 3.65 tarp is a good size for that.
If you want the tarp to cover the area under awning of your tent, then the 3.05 x 4.88m size is what you should go for.
Hi, I was wondering if you stocked replacement flyovers for this tent? We have the older version flyover that doesn't completely cover the tent, but its getting a couple holes in it. How much would it cost?
G'day Scott,
From time to time we can get spare parts out of Coleman for their Instant Up 6P Tent. Your best bet would be to give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and our customer service team will be able to help you out with getting availability and a price on any spare parts you might need.
I would like to know the differences between the Coleman Silver Series and the Coleman Gold Series?
Hi Mel,
That's a great question! Essentially the Instant Up Gold range is slightly more heavy duty than the Instant Up Silver range.
The Gold has a higher
We have a blog on this topic that goes into further detail that you might find helpful which you can read here.
I would like to know if all the pegs and guy ropes are included for complete pegging down of the tent. if i need any pegs, guy ropes, how many should i get?
G'day Tom,Â
The Coleman Instant Up 6P tent comes with guy lines attached, and with pegs included - so you don't need to purchase anything seperately. As long as you peg everything out firmly you shouldn't have any issues with the stability of your Instant Up.Â
G’day Matt, the model that we are selling is indeed the latest 2016/17 Instant Up from Coleman.
i did ask earlier, however your answer then, still leaves me guessing on what im wanting to buy ??
Hi Kev, I’m sorry you didn’t get the answer you were looking for originally, I can’t explain what happened there but I’ll try and sort this out for you now. The New Instant Up is replacing the older clearance model, the only difference is a colour update and price. Regarding general features - if you’re looking for a family/group tent that is really easy to pitch, roomy, and good value - then the Instant Up would be a good choice. If you want to talk through the range or we haven’t answered your question in full, give us a call 1300 914 007 and one of our sales staff will be more than happy to help. Make sure you mention this inquiry to the person you speak to.
Have you any details about the new range to add apart from the photos? It appears to be a refresh in look only.
Hi Michael, the Instant Up is still the exact same much-loved model as it has always been, but now with a refreshed colour scheme.
