Get set up quick-sticks, while also enjoying more versatility from your family camping shelter with the Instant Up 4P Silver Evo Tent from Coleman.
This tent features Coleman’s famous all-in-one frame and inner design that we all know and love so setting it up is simple – just lay the tent down, spread out the fabric, and extend the poles out until it locks into place. Then throw over the fly over the top, and you’re ready to roll. On a warm day, the mesh windows provide ventilation while keeping condensation at bay while the heavy-duty welded PE floor protects you from the ground up. This tent is fully seam-sealed and comes with a 1500mm waterproof rating on the fly for drizzly weather conditions.
There is an additional zip on this tent above the awning for attaching a separately available EVO shade awning which can also connect to an additional 2.4m Coleman Lighted Instant Up Gazebo for more undercover space. For fast and reliable shelter with the ability to create more shade if needed, then the Instant Up 4P Silver Evo fits the bill perfectly.

Good morning. I go camping by myself and I am after a decent size tent to put in a camp bed. Is it possible for one person to set up this tent? Thanks
G'day Kerrin,
Yes, this can definitely be set up by one person. You just need to lay the tent down, spread out the fabric, and extend the poles out until it locks into place and then throw over the fly over the top, and you’re ready to roll.
Is the awning the door cover, or does it have a separate door. So the awning doesn't have to go down at night
G'day Trish,
The awning is the vestibule cover, which is separate to the tent door. You don't need to put this down at night if you don't want to, the internal tent door is generally enough for most campers.
You'd only consider pulling the vestibule door shut if you're due to experience poor weather.
Hi, I am wanting to reduce bulk and weight for car camping (sedan). Do you think it would be possible for me to replace the instant up pole system with lighter poles such as those used in dome tent? And if so, is there a set you would recommend?. I am hoping to retain the advantage of space and head height in the cabin style tent but lose the 6 or so kilos of mechanism.
G'day Karen,
Unfortunatley not - the instant up pole system is integrated into the tent itself, and the tent inner is designed to tension around poles specifically of this shape.
You wouldnt be able to mimic the more square shape & upright walls with dome tent style poles.
G'day, I'm looking at your: - 4P Silver tent - Silver series shade awning - Easy Fold Queen Stretcher - Deluxe 3.0 Gazebo for my wife and I to travel once a month or so. Is that a good combo? If I was to spend a little more, is there anything you'd recommend upgrading to make it more comfortable (as I based most of this on the great prices)? Thank you, all the detailed advice is really helpful!
G'day Matt,
First thought is that because the walls of the tent are sloped, at the height of the stretcher you'll be cutting it quite fine to fit in - you'll probably have very little room left over and the stretcher will take up most of the space.
Alot of people wanting to use double stretchers size up to the 6P version of this tent - so thats something worth considering.
The other is that the Silver Instant Up series is an awesome entry level range. Their limitation is the lower waterhead rating, which suit most fair weather camping trips. If you think you may want to camp year round, including throughout winter and some rubbish weather, consider the Gold Evo.
My last and final thought is that Deluxe 3.0 gazebo is a great choice - they're really popular for a reason! The downside to these can be the overall weight and packed size - alot of people arent able to use them because they cant fit on their car unless they have a trailer or roof racks.
An alternative to this can be something like the Quest Air Gazebo, but it does have a higher price point.
A budget friendly and super compact option for additional shelter can be a Tarp Shelter - they can take a bit of extra time to put up, but the space vs overall cost and pack size is huge.
Check out the Oztrail Camper Fly as an option, and look through the Customer Review photos for some inspiration.
Hope that helps!
Hi. What is the difference between the silver Evo and the Gold Evo?
G'day Nicole,
The Silver is the base model, with a slightly lower waterhead rating, designed as a fair weather or light rain option. The Gold is the next step up with a higher waterhead rating, meaning it's more suited to year round use.
Hope that helps.
Can you buy it in different colours?
G'day Rod,
No, the Silver Evo range is only available in this one colour.
There is a Gold Evo range which has different material specifications, and is a green and gold colour - its essentially a level up on the silver version.
Hope that helps.
Does it comes with the 2 poles for the awning as shown in the images.
G'day Vin,
Yes, the Coleman Instant Up 4P Silver Evo does come with the 2 awning poles.
Hi Snowys - I see the EVO and Northern are the replacements for the outgoing Silver. The Northern more mesh for hotter conditions. What's the difference between the EVO and outgoing Silver? thanks
G'day Cal,
The new Silver EVO model has a zipper above the front door so you can attach the front evo awning. Aside from this, it's the same great design, with the same materials.
