This or cast iron?1 answer
Looking for a frypan to use on the fire - is this cast iron better?
Virginia - Fortitude Valley, QLD(4 years ago)
G'day Virginia,
This will generally come down to personal preference. Blue Steel is lighter weight, so can be easier to move around and lift. They will also heat up a little more quickly and lose heat more quickly than cast iron. Cast Iron is heavier, and takes longer to heat up, but will have better heat retention. Overall they're both good options, that will require seasoning, and similar care, so ultimately it will likely come down to weight.

Weight difference1 answer
Hi Snowy There seems to be a huge jump in weight between 30cm and 36cm pan. Is there a thickness change?
Milan - ST CLAIR(4 years ago)
G'day Milan,
I've just had a look at both the 30 and 36cm pans for you. The weights are correct, and there is a fair bit of difference to the weight. The label actually indicates the 36cm is 2mm gauge, so I'll get that update online too, the 30cm is 1.5mm gauge.
