No waiting for this unit to heat up, with the Joolca Hottap you'll have instant and reliable hot water in your campsite at the flick of the switch, all powered by your LPG gas bottle and a couple of D Cell batteries. User-friendly colour coded snap on hoses makes for easy set-up as they are compatible with standard domestic, caravan and camper trailer fittings, which also means you won't need costly plumbers or electricians.
With an impressive flow rate of up to 6 litres per minute, the Hottap delivers a luxurious shower in the outdoors. It accepts water through a standard tap or garden hose and has been designed as either a portable unit or permanently mounted to your 4WD or trailer. There's no flimsy parts or fancy technology, the Hottap has been made with just one moving part, which Joolca tested to 15,000 cycles... or 41 years of daily showers!
The one turn operation shower head has three spray patterns, a temperature cut-out safety feature prevents scalds and a backlit LCD monitor displays battery status (which lasts for months by the way) and water temperature. So, if your camping or glamping lifestyle includes the use of an LPG gas bottle, then the Joolca Hottap will fit seamlessly into your camp or caravan set-up.

rainwater tank1 answer
Can I use this with a hose running from my 55000L rainwater tank or would I need a pump?
Stephen Boucher - YARRAVILLE(7 years ago)
G'day Stephen,
The Joolca Hottap Portable Water Heater needs a mains water connection for it to work reliably. It may work from your rainwater tank though depending on the flow rate out of your tank. Your best bet would be to use it with a built-in 240v pump or purchase the Joolca Hottap Outing which includes a hose and pump kit. This pump runs on 12v so you'd need to have an option to power the pump if you're planning to use it off the tank.

Outdoors hand basin1 answer
I need to have an outdoors hand basin. Can I swap the shower head for a tap, or a connector that I can connect to a tap? Also how does the unit perform in windy conditions? Will the pilot light go out?
James Tilbrook - Lobethal (7 years ago)
G'day James,
I've just given this a quick whirl and the shower head does come off but I'm not convinced you'll be able to get a tap fitting on the end. It looks like the hose is smaller than a standard size. If you wanted to just have the hose open at the end, then it would work. As for the pilot light. It's nicely tucked away in the back of the unit so it does hold up pretty well in windy conditions.

Can a Joolca Hottap Portable Water Heater be run on a 2kg gas bottle without a regulator1 answer
Can the Joolca Hottap Portable Water Heater be run on a 2kg gas bottle without a regulator
Robyn - Forbes(7 years ago)
G'day Robyn,
Unfortunately, the Joolca Hottap Portable Water Heater needs a regulator to work. There is a regulator and hose included with the water heater, all you need is a POL to 3/8" adaptor to connect it to your 2kg gas bottle.

pump1 answer
can I use the Primus High Volume Camp Shower with this unit?
John - Newtown(7 years ago)
G'day John,
The Joolca Hottap Portable Water Heater isn't made to be compatible with the Primus High Volume Camp Shower but there's nothing a half roll of duct tape can't fix! Although, it might be worthwhile noting that the shower head on the Joolca is absolutely top of the range.

complete kit1 answer
is this system all i need for camping(excluding the gas bottle)do i have to buy any extras when we will be using a bucket of water for our water source?
sandy negfeldt - cobar(8 years ago)
G'day Sandy,
If you don’t want to use your unit from a hose, then you should go for the Hot Tap Outing Portable Water Heater system. This one comes with the hose and pump to filter from a water source.
