What type of drill is best?1 answer
Hi are drillable screws best drilled in with a normal drill or a hammer drill? Or do both work? Pros and cons for each? Thanks
Sarah - Perth, WA(5 months ago)
G'day Sarah,
A normal drill is more than adequate - a hammer drill is designed for drilling holes in concrete or brickwork.

Drillable pegs with shaft diameter less than 1 cm1 answer
Are there any hex pegs or drillable pegs with shaft diameter less than 1 cm?
Rajeev - Carlingford, NSW(8 months ago)
G'day Rajeev,
I'm not aware of any - I'd say hex pegs with a diameter less than 10mm wouldn't be very strong. You might be able to find something like a coach screw, etc at your local hardware store that could do the trick.

Trace Springs1 answer
Do the supapeg standard trace springs go over these securely?
Joel - Wollongong, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Joel,
Yep, they do - just needs to go sideways over the hook, and then when the spring twists up it gives it a solid fit. Hope that helps.

Shorter version1 answer
Wondering when we are going to stock the shorter version of Hex Pegs?
Henry - Kingsley(5 years ago)
G'day Henry,
We've not got the short Hex Pegs at this stage, but our purchasing team have it on their radar, so we're hoping to have stock available in the coming months.

Stainless Steel Screw Body?1 answer
Wondering is the screw body made of stainless steel or just the washer?
Henry - Kingsley, WA(5 years ago)
G'day Henry,
The Hook Top Hex Pegs have a high quality threaded steel body, the washer is the only stainless steel component

Can you slip a spring over the end to hold down a caravan annex1 answer
Currently we use a tent peg and the spring slips over the hook end.
Marco - Gold Coast(6 years ago)
G'day Marco,
I've just done some checking and the Hook Top Drillable Tent Pegs don't work overly well with trace springs. You could connect the trace spring to the hook with a small piece of rope or paracord and it would work well.

G'day Aaron,
We were actually going to do a video on the Hex Pegs Drillable Tent Pegs yesterday but the weather in Adelaide wasn't permitting it at all! We've rescheduled to early next week and will have a video available shortly.

Any good in sand?3 answers
Hello snowy, I just want to ask if these are any good in soft to medium sand? By the photos it looks quiet thin. Cheers.
Aaron Wall - Gold coast (6 years ago)
G'day Aaron,
The Hex Pegs Hook Top Drillable Tent Pegs aren't great in soft sand, we'd probably recommend you get some specifically designed sand pegs for when you're camping in the sand.
Ben - Snowys(6 years ago)
Hi Aaron,
As a general rule of thumb- Hex Pegs will work on compacted sand or a sandy based soil. If your feet sink into the sand when you walk on it then we’d suggest using a sand specific peg. We’re designing one at the moment so stay tuned!

Damian

Is the price due to come down any time soon?1 answer
That's a rediculous amount of money for peg.
James - Adelaide(6 years ago)
G'day James,
As you would expect at these prices the Hex Pegs are a premium product. You can be sure they’ll give you many years of solid and reliable use. Unfortunately, being a new and unique product, the manufacturers haven’t yet got the economies of scale that would enable a lower price.
At Snowys we want our customers to get everyday low prices and you can be sure these prices are the lowest on the market right now.
But also, if you like these pegs - stay tuned for a range of lower priced, heavy-duty plastic screw pegs that we will soon be adding to our range.
Cheers.

Is that price for 1 peg only?1 answer
As above
Alan - Townsville(6 years ago)
G'day Alan,
I've just double checked this, and yes the Hex Pegs Hook Top Drillable Tent Peg is sold individually, so the price is just for one.
