would the ease of setup be equal to a 2 pole dome

Hi Pat, there are no real advantages to this frame design when compared to a standard dome, it is just something different that Oztrail have come up with. The pole sections are smaller than other Oztrail Tents but similar to most hiking tents. Set up is not much more difficult than a standard two pole dome, it is an entry level hike tent and is good value for money.
